Say 'sayonara' to dark, vampy nails and 'konnichi wa' to soft, delicate pink nail colors for Spring 2007. Pale nails make hands look feminine and lighter shades are much easier to maintain than darker colors. Pastel pink nails also look great on super short nails. These are the "It" colors for next season. All of the new colors haven't been released yet but here are a few of my favorite oldies but goodies to get you started.
Sarah Smile by Deborah Lippmann, $15, was created with and for Sarah Jessica Parker. It's a super sheer and sexy whisper pink neutral that reminds me of the color of her light pink Oscar de la Renta dress she wears in her Lovely perfume ad.
Ballet Slippers by Essie, $7, is a longtime classic sheer pink. It looks great with all skin tones and is one of about 20 pale pinky-nude colors in the Essie line.
One more, so read more
Sweet Heart by OPI , $6.50, is the sweetest, most adorable pale pink by OPI. It's a very soft, opaque pink color which separates it from the other sheer colors. After doing a self test, I feel OPI lasts longer than most other polishes. Let me know what you think!

I like the first color especially, it so soft and pretty, but I've never really been able to wear light pinky colors like that, I've got really tanned skin so it makes me look super ashy
1Sooooooooo cute!
2Where in the U.S. do you shop for Essie and OPI?
3Here in Sweden they are considered the best, but you cannot buy them in my town. However I'm going to N.Y. in a while and I plan to get a bunch of nail polishes there.
Ooh, thanks for this!! I've been searching for a girly girl pink that doesn't wash my hands out. Into my favorites...
4oh yay for pinks
5Well this is quite a change...
6I'm going to miss the dark shades of fall and winter. I liked them a lot.

7
Amethyst!! That's a funny line.
8i'm glad about the return of pinks. i have so many pinks and corals at home, i won't have to get any new colors.
9i love the ballet slippers color! i've been using it for years
10but i also really like the dark vampy nails, i always miss them in the summer!
11Me too, Liza!! So, I still use vampy nails for nightime in the summer sometimes!
Who says I can't break the rules once in a while hehehehe
12i like a more med. pink, im so white that the light pinks kinda just blend in..
13fabsugar, I notice the OPI lasts (chips less) longer on my nails, too. I can't wait to try the OPI shade above...I like my light pink to be opaque so, this is perfect!! Plus, it's such a light shade it'll go with everything.
Almost, time to say goodbye to my really dark
ruby red nail polish.
14I love dark polish. I just never think that light pink polish looks very good on me...it makes my fingers and toes look kinda splotchy and darker (I have olive skin)...and maybe even a little bit ashy. =)
15I am a pinkaholic when it comes to nail color (only). I love the color with a tan in the summertime. Pinking of you from opi is a fav.
16I can't pull off Ballet Slippers as it's a bit too pink for me (and I don't so much love super-sheer on me). But I ADORE Essie Prima Ballerina, which is slightly warmer and not so sheer.
17I like the pink but i will keep my bright christina's lips red!
18Thoia...I know that Ulta carries Essie. I just bought some
Have fun in NYC.
19No, that's no fun, I hate pale nails! I will stick with my black, bright red and burgundy nails if nobody minds.
20i'm an OPI finatic and ya i am totailly going for the pale look this spring!!
