Before I began my facial at The Vaishaly Clinic, owner, Vaishaly Patel inquired about my health, what foods I eat and my menstrual cycle. I was experiencing quite a bad breakout at the time, and she explained how through research and experience, she has come to understand how the effects of stress, hormones and digestion directly affect the condition of your skin.
She can even correlate which problems affect which part of the face. I found this conversation riveting and wanted to ask if you know where your spots stem from? Take this quiz to test yourself!

Very interesting!
1Wow very interesting...
2interesting...3 outta 4 aint bad
lol
what can i say, im very experienced in pimples

3unfortunately!
Interesting! When I get a pimple, it's almost always on my chin. And it's usually right before my period. I always assumed it's hormone-related.
4Good to know.
5That's why ia wlays get zits on my chin when i am getting my girl stuff
6Wow, this is really great info!
7I agree. The problem has to be fixed from the inside.
8This is interesting but I wonder how accurate it is. I've been told by my aesthetician and a dermatologist that break-outs on the chin can indicate a lactose intolerance. This made sense to me and a friend who both get breakouts on our chins because we both also get upset stomachs if we drink or eat too much dairy.
9Interesting. I got 0 right because I was just guessing. I never break out, but I just started working out daily and my forehead has been getting tiny little pimples. Makes me ANGRY! I guess I have to start paying attention to my digestive issues and better cleansing.
10wow, this is really interesting...i've never heard any of that before.
11well at least i dont have digestion problems!
123/4
I break out on my forehead... so it's digestion issues?? I don't feel like my diet is imbalanced.. but I also don't feel like I have any digestion problems!! =(
13Sorry, but I don't buy it until I see actual research supporting this. Without scientific evidence, it sounds like a lot of mumbo-jumbo to me.
14Wow, 0/4...I'm on fire!
15As an Esthetician I am aware of how our skin tells a story about what goes on in our bodies. The chin is a specific area of hormone imbalance. People with lactose intolerance may experience breakouts on the chin or other areas because dairy is a mucilage causing blemishes to form.
16I love knowing stuff like that. It makes me think I can prevent them or at least know what I need to do.
17Interesting
18That was interesting! I only got 1 of them (chin=hormones) because that's the only one I have a problem with. It's my body's way of saying "go buy tampons". LOL!
19Pimples on the jaw line = hormonal imbalance, right?
20with my skin history, i should have done a lot better than 1 in 4
21You answered 4 out of 4 questions correctly
22Your score: 100%

Interesting! I only got 1 right...hehe. My pimples are usually only near my chin and are right before my period. Sometimes I get a stress one in other places...but it has to be a ton of stress since my IBS takes up most of the stress slack. Yuck.
24well if i have digestion problems how do i fix them???
25Hm... I'm not sure I believe all this, but it's certainly interesting.
26Wow I got a 4 out of 4 by calculated (according to what I know) guesses. Crazy! Sugarmarking this!
27There are SO many attributing factors to breakouts. If any of this is true - as in researched - then it is just one of many reasons for pimples. It has actually been researched to show that greasy foods to not cause pimples. I think the healthy foods in place of greasy foods can certainly benefit your skin, which could be the cause of skin improving when greasy foods are lessened or eliminated in the diet.
28Very interesting, but mostly invented. Quit reporting hippy nonsense and show what's actually proven!
29pretty interesting, especially
30all the hormonal stuff.
Hmmm, interesting. My derm said food has nothing to do with breakouts. It's hormones and touching your face... Good post.
31Wow, I got all 4 right. Been fighting pimples since I was 13, so I have a little experience, but I didn't think I knew that much. Guess I know more than I thought.
32hmm.. interesting but i have to say that these things are very hard to test.. i mean when you are stressed then you probably won't be getting enough sleep and your digestion won't be working at its best. so I think its really hard scientifically to relate different areas of the face to specific problems in the body
33didn't know that, I may have to take these things into consideration!
34i miserably failed on this quiz, thou i did find the results very interesting!
35I know a dermatologist who's been practicing for 30 years and he specifically tells all his acne patients that there is no connection between diet and acne. There's no medical literature supporting those theories and the medical community has labelled it all "old wives' tales."
36I only got the hormone one right from personal experience. EVery month, like clockwork, I break out on my chin right before my period.
37the lady that I see believes in this too.
38Omg! I don't know who to believe now, seriously.. Every time I read an article about acne, it keep saying different stuff even my dermatology!
39I'd like to see the science behind those claims. The only one I'll believe is hormonal imbalances.
40total guesses.
41I don't know how much I believe this. I always thought forehead pimples were from hair products, I get them between my brows after I get them waxed, ones on my cheeks usually come from sweat in the summer, my nose usually gets them if my skin gets too oily, my chin if I drool at night, and around my mouth I do believe is hormones.
42What was her source?
433/4...according to this I have digestion problems :\
442/4. I got the last two correct. I believe this since I have been having digestion problems recently and my forehead flared up. I deal with alot of stress and always have at least one zit on my cheek area. I used to get nasty zits from having to much dairy, so I switched to more soy products and it calmed down. However I definitely deal with the hormonal imbalance; my back & chest always flare up around the time of my period.
453/4 Although I rarely have digestion problems...
461 out of 4 is kind of pathetic. But very interesting!
47wow thats interesting
48Kinda hard to answer a quiz based on pseudoscience.
49Yep. I know my pimples, all right.
