1Looks like the girl sitting behind her in class did it. Better step it up for the oscars. Agree with Jess about the bun, buns are cool, and I think she'd look good with her hair up.

18A bun? How dull! You people who suggested that have got to be kidding! The braid is very original and keeping with Kate's fun personality. Anyone can wear a bun...Kate likes to be more of a trend-setter, and with all her recent promotional appearances she is wise to throw in a little variety. The braid is just adorable!

22In this case, a plain braid works well. It fits her personality and since the dress is busy a fancy hairdo would have been too much.
Plus a braided bun would be too sci-fi with that dress.

One needs to remember that Kate has naturally curly hair.
I suspect her hair was braided to stop it from frizzing up. London is rainy and she was walking a red carpet in the elements. Had she tried to blow out her curls... they would have frizzed up like crazy.
