''All women are Bunnies,'' Gloria Steinem wrote after her stint working at New York's Playboy club, ''but it doesn't have to be that way.'' Maybe not, but Playboy Beauty is going strong more than a year after it launched. The makeup line aims to allow "women to embrace their inner Playmate and release the 'centerfold' that’s hidden beneath."
The collection contains lip gloss, eye shadow duos, shimmer powder, and other essentials — none of which have been tested on animals, unless you count Bunnies as animals. (Har har.) So now that the line has been out for a while, would you use Playboy products, or does it skeeve you out?

1Lol...to be honest, I would rock this line...if it was something I could keep at home. But that's just because I'm a die-hard Girls Next Door fan.
I wouldn't take it in public, though...tacky!
2No thank you. I don't want to be associated with playboy.
3Are they kidding? Their inner centerfold? Wow I bet guys are gonna love this!
4I wouldn't buy anything Playboy-related but hey, I'd their beauty stuff if I received it as a gift!
can't hurt, right?
5Very doubtful...
6Skeevy.
7I couldn't help but feel like taking a shower if I used this makeup!
8All around eeewwwwww!
I don't have a problem with it at all. I think it's cute and would be fun to entice hubby with.
9If it's cute, then sure I would try it out!
10Yuck. No. Even if the stuff is good-quality, the logos on the packaging alone make me
I
wouldn't want to equate anything I do to enhance my femininity and beauty with any porn purveyor.
I'd rather use Jessica Simpson's freakin' belly button flavored fragrances than this.
11*by "belly button flavored fragrances," I mean those weird flavored fragrances she used to hawk, that were supposed to be for the belly button
12NO. So many better options out there.
13NO. So many better options out there. The logo screams 'dirty old men' and 'pervy boys'!
14No Playboy!! Victoria's Secret, YES.
15Playboy Beauty? Sure. Playboy clothes and accessories? No.
16I don't think it's offensive, just cheesy and kind of juvenile. Can you imagine pulling the bunny-topped lip gloss out of your bag at lunch (see link to old article for pic)? My friends would laugh soooo hard!
17I agree with lawchick...I have nothing against Playboy, but the sparkly pink packaging is silly, not sexy.
18It's just makeup. What's the big deal?
19I wouldn't, but I'm a prude and I try to avoid giving money to companies that espouse views that are contrary to my own.
20Hmm... Depends on the products. You cant judge it just because it says Playboy on the front. I love Girls Next Door! I would definetly try it out.
21No, I like to buy things designed by real makeup artists. This just seems like a marketing ploy to me ...
22Plus, the packaging on these seems so juvenile, it doesn't appeal to me at all. But it probably would to younger girls. Which skeeves me out. It's totally a way to get brand recognition with girls that are too young to pose and hook them early into the Playboy mindset.
23I would use the line, why not? I'm well-educated and well-read and I love The Girls Next Door and the Playboy culture. Maybe because it's a nice escape from reality and it seems like nothing bad every happens at the Mansion! Their lives are all about parties and trips and pink. And that's a nice change from hearing about war, and death, and school shootings. It amazes me how many women still condemn Playboy. It's a free country, right?
24Nope.
25Haha yes - it's cute. And what's wrong with having (and releasing) your inner centerfold?
26TACKY!!!
27if I found a color or product that I really liked - sure I'd use it. Heck, I'd use wet N wild if I found something I liked.
@ inner centerfold
28Why not? If the product is good and at a good price I would buy it - but I wouldn't carry around a compact that's for sure
29I like products of good quality, and I don't associate the name Playboy with quality in any way.
And I'm sorry, but too many of my sister's 15 year old friends on Myspace have that huge sparkly sign on their pages that says "Let me be your Playboy Bunny" followed by pictures of their cleavage. Playboy makes me think of teenage wannabe hoochies, not glamour. Not even sexiness, really.
30i just don't like play boy!
31haha...I could so freak my guy friends out with this!
32I would use it in private and maybe in front of my mom's assistant to freak her out
33why not? exploitative...not quite. let's protest miss america crap first...
34I would take a look at the products and see if there good. I wouldn't buy them, but if some were give for free. I don't care if it's Playboy, as long it works. Now if it was makeup from Hustler, I don't think so...
35Playboy is pure filth and the Girls Next Door are some of the biggest sluts this country has seen. I don't support Playboy or any of its products
36Probably not. Although I do not condemn Playboy or its products (its 2008 and we're not being forced to cover up from our eyeballs to our toes girls!), it just seems sort of trashy. I agree with others that say it seems a little juvenile and not sexy at all. I mean, what self-respecting woman would wear a body shimmer? Yuck.
37Tacky and trashy describes the Playboy bunny in my opinion. Ever since my slutty stepmom got a bunny tattoo, I want to barf every time I see that logo.
38If the product is good, I'll use it. That's all it comes down to- we're too savvy for just marketing!
39Okay... So on one hand, it's just makeup, and the Victoria's Secret line basically promotes the same thing. On the other hand, I can see some people being a little iffy about this. Playboy makeup would probably be something I would use in a 'sexy' situation... In order to make myself.. excuse ma français; slut-ish.
40Every time I see a Playboy bunny I think of the regrettable lower back tattoos that many girls in my high school got in the late 1990's. YUCK!
41I would if the colors were right, and if the shimmer made my skin look beautiful. I would make the beauty my own, I wouldn't make myself up like a bunny or centerfold model, however.
42Can you ladies get past the brand name alone? I understand that you pull this stuff out of your purses in public. And people then, albeit shallow, judge you on the products you consume. What if it wasn't branded "Playboy", and what if it was actually quality (which I'm not doubting it is, I just have no idea) ... would you use it then?
Is the Playboy brand THAT bad in your eyes that you can't see past the nudity aspect to indulge in any related product? I know a lot of women are down with Playboy, but for those of you who aren't, have you even read the magazine?
43thesugardude:
If it wasn't branded "Playboy" and it was quality, I would have no qualms trying it. My problem is absolutely with the brand and the name. I have read the magazine, and I still (and therefore) refuse to support its brand or logo.
Others can do as they like, and I won't judge them. But I personally wouldn't own anything with their logo.
44If it's a good product at a good price the brand doesn't really matter to me.
45It's kitschy AND tacky. No, I wouldn't use it. I don't need a Playboy branded beauty item to create any kind of "sexy" look that I want. I believe that this line would be purchased by teens and young women who want to be seen as "cool" or "sexy". Yes, I would be embarrassed pulling this out of my purse...what with all the great brands out there. I highly doubt this brand will be all that good anyway....perhaps one or two nice items like a gloss but not an all-around great line like L'Oreal, Bobbi Brown, Stila or MAC.
46Lol. Let me quote Bookish and say that I feel the same exact way.
"Playboy makes me think of teenage wannabe hoochies, not glamour."
47I would be chick for a day.
48I wouldnt use it, i think the Playboy line is tacky, but i dont think its exploit ave. Just as I dont think Hooters is exploitative. Those women arent being forced to pose nude, and they are just using what they have to make money.
49I'm with fleurfairy. I support Playboy products and watch The Girls Next Door. I even have a subscription to the Bunny Store catalogue. Oh well, people can judge all they want.
