There is nothing more frustrating, beauty-wise, than a case of aggressive acne that won't go away. Luckily, US News reports on a new procedure called photopneumatic therapy, targeted at persistent pimples. It works by suctioning the skin to bring the acne bacteria to the surface, then beaming it with an intense pulse of light that stuns the overactive oil glands and kills the existing bacteria.
On average, the painless process can produce a 90% reduction in acne in as little as three sessions. However, there's a catch: the price tag. Each session can cost up to $500, and maintenance requires repeated treatments every few months or so. For patient Veronica Prudencio, it's well worth the cost: "I don't feel like people are staring at me anymore," she said. "It's just so much easier to leave the house, and that's priceless."

Sure if I had the money but I don't so I'll just deal with it. I'm lucky though I rarely break out.
1Back in the day when I had skin problems, I would have killed for a treatment like this.
2That's a lot of money, but if it works and if you've got the money, it sounds like it's totally worth it. I'm glad my skin is fairly under control, and only requires a daily dose of tea tree oil.
3i would if i wasn't a poor college kid! acne is the bane of my existence.
4if i had known about this in college i would have totally. i should actually tell my brother about it- poor kid has bad acne. i was lucky that the birth control helped mine- he doesn't have that option!
5back when I had really bad acne. and i became so desperate. i would use everything. now i've started birth control which has helped me soo much. glad they're coming up with new ways to help control it
6why do they have to make these treatments so expensive. my step son has terrible acne and we have done everything to try to get rid of it. now they put him on accutane and it is semi working. this would be awesome but $500 a session. Geez!
7Grrrr, I wish the treatment was not so expensive. I'm 25 and have suffered from acne since I was 14 or so. I currently have it fairly controlled with Murad but I still get pimples around my chin and mouth. The pimples are usually the cystic ones and once they go away, a week later they pop up again in the same exact spot!!! Any suggestions sugars or Bella?
8My strange and much more cost effective way of dealing with cystic acne is to cover the spot before bed with "ACTIV-FLEX" Bandages. The type of band aid meant to stay on for a few days at a time, its kind of a flexible plastic. After 2 nights (remember to remove the band aid in the morning) of this my nasty undergrounds have almost disappeared!!

10I will tell you that my little miracle product is Kiehls baby soap. Its a pump foam, and it rocks my socks! It basically healed a cut I had on my face from shaving and banished two zits I had in like 2 days.
Also, I take 6 crushed aspirin and add a little water to make a paste. Put it on your face, thin layer, let dry and rinse off.. besides getting a good sneeze
, the acid kills most of the germs on your face and its a great exfoliater. I read about it in
Glamour a little while ago and love it when my skin isnt looking so fresh 
11hottpink, I just go over the "spot" with some toner (I like Kiehls Tea Tree), let it dry and put the band aid over the spot. Also, I don't use the entire band aid I just cut out a circle.
12Hi I hope you can help i need a second oppion i have been having laser for the last 2 months today it was my 3rd time i have it done on my arms, chest,neck and face for pigmentation sunspots and aging. Today was intensly sore and i am now covered in blisters and what looks like love bites all over my face it is very sensitive i cant even have a bath. Is this normal.YOur help is much appreciated
