Brace yourself for another set of Marc Jacobs Splashes due out in April. This time around, MJ doesn't mess with fancy floral or grassy fragrances. Nope, the limited-edition Sorbet Splashes ($65 each) come in Grapefruit, Basil and Pear scents.
The scents are designed for layering, but of course they can be worn separately. (Remind you of Jo Malone much?) And once again, they come packaged in Marc's signature thick glass bottles.
I haven't been able to get my hands on any samples yet, but after reading about the ingredients, I am most excited about Pear Splash. There's something refreshing about biting into a sweet and juicy over-ripe fresh fruit in the summertime.
For more specifics, read more.
- Basil Splash contains notes of tomato leaf, lemongrass, basil, freesia, jasmine, white musk, cashmeran, sandalwood and orange flower.
- Grapefruit Splash is made from a blend of citrus, woods, orange flower, watery ozone (what's that), ginger, freesia, tagette, amber, white musk and patchouli.
- Pear Splash is a mix of bergamot, lemon zest, pear, freesia, juniper, gin accord, musk, teak-wood and amber.

Oh, I can't wait for these. I loved my Marc Jacobs Cotton splash from a few years back.
1I'd try these! Especially the grapefruit one.
I'm pretty obsessed with his Daisy perfume these days.
2I've had pear perfume from an inexpensive company Yves Rocher a couple years back and I loved it.
3I don't know, I don't think I'll like this one as much as the grass one (I loved his grass scent, as well as Gap's older version). I just think the first one (basil) would make me smell too much like a pizza or pasta sauce or salsa...wouldn't want my boyfriend to get confused if he went in for a kiss and decide he had a sudden desire for Olive Garden!
4Grapefruit and Pear both sound really nice. Basil is only for eating, however - not for smelling like. LOL @ redrover - that would be awful!
5I'd so try these.
6I think watery ozone is kind of that fresh scent of water. You know like rain has a smell?...lol These bottles are literally enormous.
7I'd go for the grapefruit first. Lately I've been wearing more and more citrus everyday, I'm tired of winter.
I'd definitely love to try the grapefruit or the pear. I've never used any of Marc Jacobs Splashes, but I have a couple of his perfumes and I love them!
8I'll get my hands on it as soon as it's coming on the market.
9I would def try these! I love my Daisy perfume at the moment!
10They sound so....fruity!
11Oooh! Definitely want to try these, especially the pear splash one!
12I so want the pear splash!
13Oh wow I can't wait.
14I'd love to try all of these! I'm actually very intrigued by the idea of a basil scent. It's not like it has any notes of pasta sauce or anything, so I don't think you would have to worry about smelling like an Italian restaurant. I think it would be refreshing and interesting. Grapefruit is my faaavorite food though and I love grapefruit scents, so if I had to pick one to buy, I'd go for the grapefruit.
15They all sound very yummy, especially grapefruit.
16I can't wait to smell these. Pear sounds yummy! I love Rain and Orange from last year. I love the large size and great price. I lucked out and got signed bottles from Bloomingdales. Hope he signs some of these.
