As I mentioned a while back, Salon Selectives is back. The hair-care line has kept its customized classification system to determine the right product for your hair type, and it's reformulated the line to incorporate hair-nourishing botanicals such as lemongrass, witch hazel, and apple pectin.
I recently tried the Healthy Clean Shampoo, Moisture Renewal Conditioner, and Smooth & Shine Serum. The serum felt silky, not sticky, and just a small drop on my dry hair tamed the frizz that I've been battling lately. The shampoo smelled like apples and made my hair shinier than usual, but my scalp isn't oily enough to need a cleansing shampoo every day. The conditioner, which is formulated with silk proteins and avocado oil, is up there with one of the most luxurious I've tried, and left my hair amazingly soft.
Overall, I'm into the redesign of the line. It smells good, and I think the classification system gives shoppers an easy way to figure out what they need. Plus, I like how the packaging is almost the same; it adds a bit of nostalgia.

I want to try (again)!!!
1I went to the Schacky (SP) event and got these in my goodie bag, I havent tried them yet but when I do, I will let you all know the results.
2I can't look at those bottles without hearing the jingle. "Look like you just stepped out of a saloooon! Salon Selectives!"
3I remember when I used to have a bottle in the shower when I was in middle school...haha. And then Pantene came along.
4LOL Thiv04. You make it sound like a romantic triangle!
5I used to use these products all of the time. I totally forgot about them though. I can't wait to buy some again!
6Haha, this brand is SO 80s/early 90s to me...I used to love the "apple" scent and I'd shellack my hair in place with their products.
I'm not sure I could get into it again though!
7I could totally see myself getting back into this, if not for the Pantene in my life...
8Never used it...
9Oh gosh I used to love this stuff before they came out with Pantene.
10if it smells the same i'd totally use it again- especially for summer, it has that summery smell to it!
11I loved this stuff in junior high. I'd thought Sunsilk stole their whole racket but I'm kinda excited for the comeback! I'd buy some!
12In what stores will Salon Selectives be available?
13I might give this a spin for nostalgia's sake. Loved it when I was a teenager!
14can some one say.."flashback"! lol....like everyone else, this brings me back to junior high days. one of my favorite things about spending the night at my best friends house, is that I got to use all her products from makeup, haircare and even clothes! I can't wait to get a bottle of my own now =)
15Now if only they'd bring Agree and Halsa back! I loved Agree so much and then they changed the scent and eventually it was discontinued. Imagine my joy when I found the Samy line and their shampoo had a similar scent to Agree. Then they go and change that too! It's now a "clean, fresh scent". Urgh.
Maybe I'll give SS a whirl, but it was never my favorite in the 90s.
16Ooh, I forgot about Agree!
17I picked up a bottle of this at the drugstore the other day and it brought me back to junior high school!
18oooh..I used this stuff back in the day! I am definitely going to try this when I see it in the store.
