Most people who have an aversion to sunscreen just haven't figured out the right way to incorporate it into their beauty routine. Luckily, getting that SPF protection no longer means gooping on a layer of pore-clogging, impossible-to-wear-makeup-over sunscreen every morning. To help out, I've come up with three easy ways to sneak some sun protection into your day.
- Primer: A primer goes on top of your moisturizer to even out skin texture, absorb oil, and hold foundation in place all day long. Smashbox has already released a SPF 15 version of its cult favorite Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer ($42). Or try the Clinique City Block Sheer Oil-Free Daily Face Protector SPF 25 ($16.50), a broad-spectrum sunscreen that can be worn as a light moisturizer or a primer.
- Foundation: Picking a foundation that contains an SPF is an easy way to get sun protection without adding an extra product to your routine. It can be in a form of simply a light-tinted moisturizer, or all the way up to a full-coverage foundation. A product like this LORAC ProtectTint SPF 30 Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer ($30) gives you light coverage and the benefits of an SPF without clogging your pores. If you prefer slightly more coverage, go for Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup SPF 20 ($11).
- Powder: Powder has gotten a bad rap in the past, but if you choose the right one, you can dust on some SPF protection without looking too makeup-y. I recommend going for a bronzer so you can add a glow to your skin without the sun damage. Try Stila's Sun Bronzing Powder SPF 15 ($28). Or if you prefer powder foundation, check out the SPF 15 mineral powders from Bare Escentuals ($25).

I live in Florida so I try to make sure most aspects of my make-up have SPF --- my MAC prep+prime has SPF 50 and my liquid foundation has SPF 15!
1I have really reactive/sensitive skin these days due to laser treatments. I'm looking for a good daily SPF that won't cause breakouts. Thanks.
2I think most of my makeup and moisturizers have SPF in them. Too fair not too!
Hootie - I'm planning to try Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Touch. Maybe that will work for you as well. My skin is sensitive and acne-prone and I've heard good things about that sunscreen.
3Hootie - try DML Daily Facial Moisturizer Spf 25.
My face is super sensitive (even cetaphil irritates the heck out of it) as a result of years of brining out the heavy artillery against acne - so now i'm all sensitive and red and have acne - it's fab.
I was looking for a moisturizer with spf that wouldn't irritate or make me break out - am about six weeks into using this one and it's been great so far.
It is Non-comedogenic; Hypoallergenic; Water Resistant; Unscented;

being extremely fair as well as prone to oily, shiny skin, i also like this powdered sunblock-in-a-tube by peter thomas roth: http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=162792&catid=47196&trx=GF...
Totally self-contained, invisible, and takes the edge off my shiny forehead.
has anyone tried the SPF version of the smashbox primer? i'm curious, but have mixed feelings about primers...
5What's the BEST primer to use for a really oily face? I need ideas ladies!
6My moisturizer and foundation have SPF in them but not my primer.
7SPF is key!
8i don't wear makeup all the time so i guess i'll stick with my moisturizer with spf
9I wish the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural compacts had spf. Nobody asked but still.
10i have trhe bare minerals and smashbox!
11I LOVE MY LORAC PROTECTINT !!! I have it in Dare to Bare the lightest shade. It's oil free and awesome. Laura Mercier's tinted moisture is good coverage but leaves my skin dry and bobbi brown's spf 25 skin tint is too heavy and not enough coverage. I love LORAC.
12SPF is a must in order to prevent premature aging (fine lines, wrinkles, sagging skin)...
13i want to try clinique city block. ive heard good things about it
14I love for tinted moisturizer with SPF! (And lip balm with it, too!)
15Benefit You Rebel - spf 15!
16My moisturizer has SPF in it, same with my lip gloss.
17I've got it covered from my moisturizer to my primer, to my powder foundation! Atleast I know I'm on the right track.
18I use the Bare Minerals SPF 15 Foundation-- it's natural and I don't have to slather on the oily sunscreen. Seems to work for me. The minerals actually reflect the sunlight-- so much so that I can tell when a camera's flash bounced off my face in a photo.
19For acne prone skin like mine, I use clinique city block oil-free with light tint, then laura mercier oil free primer, then mufe mat velvet, mufe hd powder, and I'm set for 12 hours...even lasted through a hot humid Florida wedding.
