Frustrated by my inability to achieve a long-lasting finish to my manicures and pedicures at home, I asked three salons in my town what they used as a topcoat for manicures and pedicures. All three told me the exact same thing: Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat. So I caved and plunked down the $10 for a bottle. Not an outrageous price, but enough that I wanted to be sure I was getting the best.
Seche Vite is meant to be applied thickly, and it leaves nails incredibly glossy and chip proof for way longer than anything else I've tried. The weird thing about the product is that unlike other top coats, you are supposed to apply it over wet polish. Applying it this way allows the formula to actually penetrate the polish, solidifying it into a shield-like protector for your nails. This is tricky to do at first while avoiding streaking, but once you get the hang of it, it's smooth sailing.
In 2006 InStyle magazine picked up on it, too, and named Seche Vite one of its Best Beauty Buys of the year. You can find this little gem at almost any nail salon, or online. And let me know what you think — I always like hearing if you agree or disagree.

Cheap Monday
I use this and it is AMAZING. It makes such a difference compared to the cheap $3 topcoats. DEFINITELY worth the price, especially at ULTA when they have $3.50 off coupons
1I love this stuff. Have been using it for years and don't mind the cost at all! You can paint your nails, put it on and go to bed. Wake up in the a.m. with no sheet marks! Recommend it to everyone.
2I absolutely LOVE this stuff! My mom turned me on to it and I use it every time I get my nails done. Totally worth the price!
3i have this but after a few days, it's not as shiny anymore :[ it kinda chips easily too. maybe i got a bad batch :T
4I'm gonna try this. Thanks.
5I looooove seche vite and refuse to use anything else now! It makes every nail polish fast drying and it is so shiny! However, it goes bad fast and I always have to throw away the bottle when it gets to half-full.
6Sheet marks are the killer for most of my manicures, if this prevents that it's worth every penny!
7Question: If you apply it over wet polish does the wet polish stick to the brush?
8This is the only top coat I have ever used! I apply mine as soon as all the polish is on, so the color probably has been on a couple of minutes. I like it so much I've never tried any others. It's even at a local chain drug store now!
9Wow! I must try this! Sounds amazing!
10Thanks for the tip can't wait to try it
11How does the topcoat go bad?
12My polish chipped way faster with this topcoat, I'm now an OPI Start to Finish girl.
13i will definitely buy this
14If you have a Sally's card, it's worth it to buy it there because it's $4.95 I think with the card as opposed to the reg. price of $7.99. I like Out the Door better because though because there's less shrinkage
15i love this stuff too. i like that if you do happen to hit your nail against something before this fully hardens and dries, you can just sort of push it back in place and you can't even tell you messed up on a nail.
16Sounds great!!
17EVERY time I use a quick drying topcoat my nails are chippy as heck! When I just use the reg OPI topcoat, I am fine though. I used to use out the door, but now Ill just wait and type or read for 30 mins while it dries b/c my mani lasts longer.
18Seche is the best! My nail polish didn't chip for at least a week.
19I love this stuff! It works so well.
20omg I am so glad you are spreading the word on this! I love it! I have used it for years and its terrific! Would definitly recommend to anyone
21If you love the Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat, I would also reccommend trying their Crystal Clear Base Coat. It's amazing and makes my manicure last 2x as long as it normally would.
22I randomly picked this up at a Sally's Beauty Supply store and it really is amazing! My manicures last forever- especially when I layer this over Sally Hansen Diamond Strength nail polish. Thanks for the tip on applying a thick coat to still-wet nails!
23I haven't tried this one, but I'm a big fan of "Out the Door" (about $7, lasts quite a long time) and also OPI's top coat (about $10), which I don't believe claims to dry fast but it really does, and it's long-lasting. Both of these can be applied over not-quite-dry ("tacky") nail polish without making it wet and streaky again.
24Also an "Out the Door" fan... perhaps when I run out, I'll give this a try.
25Seche Vite is the greatest! I love it sooo much!
26If the top coat starts "going bad" you can use Seche Restore (you just add 1-2 drops of it to the top coat) and roll it around between your fingers and it's good as new! Try it ...it works
Seche Restore also works on old chunky gloopy nail polishes too.
27$10 is too much for this polish... they sell it in miami GBS for only $7.50 - see if you can find it cheaper than $10 in your city.
my manicurist also uses this top coat and absolutely loves it... I'm buying it this week. Glad to see you all love it too, having the reco's works
