Sometimes I feel as though my hair is so parched that all the conditioner in my shower (and trust me, that's a lot) isn't going to do the trick. Unfortunately, most leave-in conditioners just weigh my hair down into an icky matted mess. So when I came across this Phytonectar Pre-Shampoo Oil Treatment ($30) I was excited.
As it turns out, I was excited with good reason. First of all, this stuff smells downright amazing — it's not even a touch perfume-y or sweet. The thick oil produced by the sturdy pump smelled herbal but not medicinal, with a hint of chamomile. Two to three generous drops warmed quickly in the hands, then massaged into hair from tips to scalp, is all you need. I like to put a little extra just on my ends to really soak them in the nourishing solution. If my scalp is feeling at all dry or itchy, a little bit of this massaged directly into it helps hydrate and soothe the skin.
This is meant to be applied 15-20 minutes pre-shower and then rinsed out, but I put it on at night and sleep in it, then rinse it out in the morning. A warning, though: unless your hair is genuinely dry, coarse, or frizzy, or you're having a freak dry spell, I would not recommend this product. The thick oil would weigh your hair down if it wasn't in need of a good quenching. But, if you're like me and sometimes you really need a super dose of hair-quenching moisture, this is just what the doctor ordered.

i would definitely like to try this but...do you shampoo it out once in the shower??
1I'll stick with my Infusium...
2I have this and love it. I put it in at night and wash out in the morning as well.
3As with my skin, I have combination hair. Dry ends...not oily but oilier roots that tend to get greasy with too much touching and product.
I would love to try this..but only applying it from the nape down. Bella, what do you think?
4Thanks Bella
5hey bella what color is your hair? Because i am blond and i tried this, i left it on my hair all night and in the morning i realized my hair color changed. I was no longer blond, my hair turned ugly yellow. i think this product is good for brunets only. what do you guys think?
6Hi everyone! A few answers to your questions...
7ffemt1201, yep, you wash it out in the shower, shampoo and condition as usual.
San Diego Love- You could definitely apply it only to the ends of your hair! A lot of people have the same problem as you: oily scalp and dry ends. I would also suggest only using your conditioner from the nape of the neck, down, and avoiding conditioning your scalp altogether.
natalia24- The product itself is a dark yellowish color, but it doesn't contain any ingredients that should change the color of your hair. I have a blonde friend who has used this product with no problems, but if you think it is altering your hair color, I would suggest using less of the product, and maybe rinsing it out sooner rather than sleeping it in.
Hope this helps!
Thanks!
Oooh, this sounds like it would be great for treating the dry ends of my long hair. Never heard of it before!
8Great recommendation! I've got to try this!
9Sounds like it would be nice for me. I have thick, dry, frizzy hair I'll keep it in mind.
10My stylist gave me samples of this, but I haven't tried it yet. Thanks for reminding me!
11Thanks, Bella! I'm definitely going to try this! I checked it out on lookfantastic.com and I can't believe it's the same price here in the UK as in the States! That never happens! Let's hope it tames my unruly locks (I definitely fall in the frizzy/damaged category).
12thanks!i went to sephora yesterday and saw it,but i grabbed the fekkai glossing cream(what do you think of that one?)=)!Well when I'm done with it I'll try this one! Thanks,i think leave-in conditioner is really important
13I've used it, I liked it but I guess my hair was really dry at the moment cause I used the whole bottle in less than one month. haha And it was expensive.
linday_love: I have the fekkai glossing cream and it's really good. I use it after blowdrying my hair,to make my hair shiny.
14looking forward to trying!!!!
