It's always fun to play with new makeup colors and products, but sometimes it's hard to shell out the cash for a color when you're just not sure how it's going to look when you leave the store. If you don't live near a major shopping mall or a Sephora, it's even harder to make color choices online. To help alleviate this problem, I've picked out three pretty beauty sets that allow you to try a range of colors for each product before you decide to splurge on the full-sized version.
Thinking about experimenting with a turquoise blue eye shadow, but not quite sure if you can pull it off? Try these Cargo Eyeshadow Color Cards ($24). This set contains 28 single-use sliding tins that can slip right into a pocket or a purse and allow you to test out six different shades of Cargo eye shadow colors. If you find one you like, you can purchase the full-sized version.

Lip color is another one that can be tough, since things you try on in the store look different once you're outside in natural light. If you're not positive what looks best on you, this LORAC Glam Glitz Lip Polish Collection ($25) gives you eight miniglosses to choose from, all for less than the cost of two full-sized versions. So if you're wondering whether you can pull off a bright coral or a sultry burgundy lip, this is a good way to find out without breaking the bank.
Nail polish is something that can also be tricky, and besides, who really ends up using their whole bottle? Instead of shelling out up to $19 for one color, test drive a few different colors with a mini nail polish set, like this OPI Little Jewels Mini Pack ($10). For just a little more than the cost of one bottle of OPI polish, you can try three of their new Spring shades and snag a mini top coat to boot!

I love all things Cargo...such a great brand. And I bought those color cards for a cruise I went on a couple of years ago. They were really fun!
1Nice idea...
2i love this!
3Maybe this is just me, but I think they should make some beauty products smaller so you don't waste stuff when it expires. I don't know if that's because I don't use all my makeup every day but I always feel so wasteful throwing things out. Plus in these trying times I hate throwing away expensive products!
4I'll have to look into travel sized beauty products!
Thats a lot of money for one time use sample eyeshadows.
5I love being able to do this.
6So cute...I agree with the fifth comment...that DOES seem like a lot for the sample eyeshadows, however, I think the others are just perfect. In fact, why not use the "samples" and not buy the full-size versions at all?
7good run for my money
8I agree with thatsmypurse, some beauty products come in such large containers that you end up wasting your product and your money because you don't use it all before it expires. Considering how much I pay for my beauty products I would expect to use every last bit and not have to throw it away.
