A lot of people who get tattoos talk about how addictive they are. (That's why you'll often see someone donning multiple tattoos as opposed to just one.) Last time I checked, Angelina Jolie had 13, Nicole Richie had seven, and Pamela Anderson had three. Last week at the Superhero Movie premiere, Pamela showed off two of her tats. What do you think? Would you stick with just one, or are you all about multiples?

I would stick with zero, to be honest. (Even getting one would not lead to another, I'm positive!) I'm not a fan of needles, and I think real tattoos are just a bad idea - not only for the pain, but also for the permanence (what if in ten years that boyfriend is out of the picture and you've still got his name on your ankle?) and the fact that when you get old and wrinkly, so do the tattoos. Yuck. And I think there's nothing worse than a nicely-dressed man or woman at a party, with a tattoo sticking out somewhere. But that's just my opinion - I realise others probably don't share my sense of aesthetics.
That said, I'm a big fan of mendhi/henna and woad designs, for cultural significance and because they come off in a reasonable amount of time.
1I think it all depends on the tattoo.
2depends on the tattoo. I think the barbed wire one is ugly and the one on her back is alright but kind of a waste
3i think tattoos that actually mean something to the person who's been inked are awesome. pam anderson's look like pointless whims, which i'm not all about. i have 2 tattoos (technically, it looks like one) and am contemplating getting another. that being said, none of mine can be seen unless i'm in a bathing suit!
4I have two tattoos, both of which are easy to hide and few people know that I have. But I'm not necessarily a fan of the more the merrier either. But to each their own!
5The barbwire armband was recently featured in the top ten telltale signs of a true douchebag...
6well, it depends on the tattoo, the person, and where it is located. I don't mind a few small ones and would love to get a couple more. I have one right now, on my ankle. I would love one on my neck(the back), and a small one on my shoulder, and one on my foot. But that would be it. Most could be covered if needed. On guys, I love tattoos. Always have. And my hairdresser has her arms completely sleeved and one leg with almost the entire length covered, along with a few smaller ones. It looks beautiful actually. They are colorful and pretty tattoos. And it fits her personality. Pam Anderson irks me anyway so no...don't really like hers. And please tell me...why does this woman always wear white?
7I think it's up to the individual. I mean just because one person might not like tattoos doesn't mean anything, hence individuality.
I have more than one and wouldn't have it any other way. Like krEnElk most of mine you'd only see in a bathing suit but I love all of them.
I think tattoos are a great way for some people to express themselves and many experiences, things and people in their lives.
To each their own. And don't knock it till you try it.
bailaoragaditana ya we age and get wrinkled but I mean at that point will I be perusing in a bathing suit, no. My tattoos are mile markers in my life that have huge meaning to me so people's "opinions" on how I might look when I'm older with some personal tattoos isn't very important to me.
All that matters is what I think about myself.
8I love my own tattoos--I have full sleeves and some on my ribs and 2 on my legs, but they mean a lot to me and they're really bright and beautiful artwork. Things like barbwire and things people choose directly off a wall are super tacky and bad, in my opinion. I'm really not a fan of random tattoos in random places scattered around the body either.
Honestly, people come up to me all the time because I have tattoos and tell me that they want to get one--I usually tell them not to. I don't regret any of mine at all (except that I can't wear short sleeve shirts with prints because my arms clash with it--I look like wallpaper!) but I think if you're just going to get one, you'll probably regret it in the end.
9Depends on the tattoo, the person, and the location.
Meaningless flash gotten on a whim is always going to look like meaningless flash gotten on a whim.
I personally have two tattoos in discrete locations, and I can certainly attest to the fact that it's an addictive process.
10I agree with Aimee.
I personally don't have any and probably won't ever get one, it's never really been something that I've wanted to do. But I still think it's all up to the individual.
Some people rock the multiple-tattoo look and it's part of their style. And most people I know have tattoos that mean something special to them. I think that's kind of nice.
To each their own.
11I think that it's addictive for some. I never thought I'd get one, but I did, and it has meaning for me. And it's also in a location that as I age, if I gain or lose weight, it's not going to change (shoulder blade). It's also only visible if I'm in a halter or spaghetti straps, neither of which occur very often at all (well, and naked of course).
12well.. i have to say, i love tattoos..
and they have never stopped me from looking like a lady.
13I have one on my back and I'm happy with it. And sometimes I think of getting another .
14To each their own. I personally love tattoos. I like to save up and splurge a design I've worked on for a birthday present to myself.
15It depends. Two small ones on different areas of the body, okay. Two huge ones that get shown at awards shows when the wearer dons skimpy dresses, not good.
16I have two! Love them both.
17I really hate tatoo's in general. The post mentioned Angelina Jolie and when she is all dressed up in these expensive gowns and you see her tatoos I don't think it looks classy. And she's a perfect example of having to get them removed because she had Billy Bob on her arm.
And, like another comment said when you get old the tatoo's get old. My dad got a playboy bunny---yes thats right--when he was 18. Well, of course my whole childhood when we would be outside at our pool his bunny would be showing (ugh!) and now its just weird and faded--he hates it and so do i!
18I have two...and I see nothing wrong with it.
19I have six. They're not discreet in the slightest. One on each forearm, one around my right wrist, one on my left hip, and two on my back. That said, I've never been told I look trashy in a nice dress, and most people give me huge compliments on them. I'm not the silly type to get a name or pick something off a wall... each was planned out months in advance (mostly because I had to save up months in advance!). When I first started back in the civilian business world I worried how an office environment would feel about them, but they don't mind at all! It's nice to see that there isn't the stigma there used to be.
20It depends on the tattoo. I currently have 5 and will probably get at least one more (I have a plan for when I have a child). They are all meaningful to me, all easy to hide. I know a lot of people don't like them, but it's a personal choice and to me, it's a part of me. I love tattoos, when they're well done. They're a beautiful pieces of art. Of course I've seen my fair share of crap, but really, who am I to judge? It's just like a horrible haircut or outfit. May not be my thing but obviously they love it. To each their own.
21ALSO I'd like to mention something about people talking about old tattoos. The tattoos we see on grandparent and parents were done using different inks and different techniques. They weren't very well done and that's why you get the blurring, and yucky looking old tattoos. Our modern day tattoos will look better for longer. Technique is so important. Look at some of those old Japanese men with their full bodies done. As they age they still look good.
i dun like tattoos on myself
22i don't want any on myself, but some guys like hot with multiple.
23look hot, not like hot!!!
24I have one on my hip and I want a second one on my foot, I like that they are place that people do see, just not that often. To me the two mean something special to me. I would never get a name on me, it's just not my style.
25I love them, in general. As everyone has said it depends on what it is, where it is, and the quality it is. Pam's look cheap and not crisp or sharp. I have two but only can be seen if I wear a bathing suit and will probably get one more (I have this thing w/ the number 3). They definately mean something to me and I think they can be extremely sexy.
26I only like tattoos when they have some real meaning behind them- i.e. something that reminds you of an accomplishment, some adversity you've overcome, a family member or friend who's passed away, etc. Tattoos just for the sake of decorating your body are trashy to me.
Does anyone know what those orange looking spots on the back of Pam Anderson's shoulder are? Is it something to do with hepatitis?
27I have three and I love them all. As far as getting old, who cares you'll be old. I plan on owning everything about myself if I live to a ripe old age, tats and all. BTW, my mom spent her whole life wanting a tattoo and always chickened out. On her 50th birthday she got her first and only tattoo! Everyone's skin doesn't wrinkle and get all soggy, fyi.
28I have one tattoo that can't be seen unless I'm in a very skimpy bathing suit. I'm planning on a couple of more, in places that aren't easily seen. I like tattoos that mean something, the next ones I'll get will be something to represent my daughters, something to represent the fact that I'm a twin, and something to represent the fact that I'm a woman. But the things I want may not be clear to other people. I think all tattoos are personal, just because I don't like Pamela Anderson's barbed wire tattoo, doesn't mean that it's not important to her. My husband has two tattoos, one is quite big and has our daughters names on it, my Mom has one, my sister has two, my MIL and both SIL's have several. It's a personal thing. I love mine though!
29I love them on other people, but not me! It scares me. A tatoo can be very sexy on a man and a woman. Even more so on a woman if done right.
30For myself, not really but I know others who rock their tattoos.
31Ugh, zero for me. I hate hate hate tattoos, but I am positive it is a result of my upbringing -- I'm Jewish, and tattoos are forbidden in Jewish religion, so it's not surprising that I am very anti-tattoo. That said, I don't love my friends any less because they have tattoos, but I just really can't stand the look of them and you could not possibly pay me enough money to ever get one.
32I am afraid that I will regret that you will be able to see their tattoos though for our wedding -- I hate the idea of visible tattoos in a synagogue!
I don't like tattoos for myself.
33i think it depends. i'd really like one, and i'm hoping to find an artist to help me design one. but i like the idea of multiple tattoos if they're done tastefully. obviously, pamela anderson isn't a good example.
34I have two and I love them. They are important to me and I waited until I was 23 to get them! That said, I'm pro-choice on the matter and to each their own.
I don't believe in "the more the merrier" but what's wrong with getting something that's pretty and doesn't necessarily have a deep or spiritual meaning? You might regret it later...or you can choose not to. It depends on how you want to live your life.
35I don't like them but i have friends that have them so i don't dislike people who have them I just dont like tatoos in general. To each his/her own but you will never see me with one and i will never date anyone with one. My boyfriend and I feel the same way about tattoos and excessive body piercings but i dont discriminate against others if that is their choice.
36Heh heh I like the $ signs on the inside on your lip. Cool.
I say tattoos or not it's totally up to the individual whether zero, one, two or a thousand is enough.
They're a personal statement like piercings or makeup or jewelry or a haircut. Just for some people they're permanent because they cannot have laser removal because of skin pigmentation.
37i like tattoos...i have 2, i plan on more...i get them to mark special occasions or passages...mine are unique to me, and i don't show them off...but i like them because i think they are unexpected on me...and my husband thinks they are cool...so i guess that is a good thing, too.

39I don't think it's unreasonable request that your friends cover their tattoos for your wedding... check out tattoocamo.com If it's important to you, I'm sure they'd understand.
I have a tattoo on my wrist of my niece's name and one on my ankle of a design i loved and so far i've gotten compliment's on it since it's very unique and not verly large and my wrist tattoo is pretty discreet. i want one more on my back but I love sleeves on men.
40I like most tatoos if they are done tastefully...I dont like ankle tatoos I think those (usually, once in awhile they dont)look tacky
41I have a tramp stamp lol. But I love it and I wanted it there because that skin doesn't tend to age much and also can easily be covered up. I got that one almost 6 years ago and don't regret it, and also haven't gotten another one. If I ever got another one, it'd be somewhere easily hidden, like my hip. It would also be something significant, like a child's name or wedding date or something.
42I like tattoos and have several. I am definitely of the mindset that people can do whatever they like with their body. I feel that discriminating against someone for having tattoos is just as ridiculous as discriminating against someone for wearing something you don't like or cutting/coloring their hair in a way that you don't like.
43To each his own.
I love tattoos! I have one that I got when I was 16, as a memorial to my younger brother who died of cancer, and I'm planning on getting another, also meaningful to me. I designed my first and will be designing my second as well. I think it's ridiculous to say as you age they'll look ugly and wrinkly. As you age, YOU'LL be wrinkly and old too, not just your tattoos! As long as you get what's meaningful to you, you won't get sick of it or regret it. When people discriminate against people with tattoos, I think it's ridiculous. All kinds of people get tattoos. Awesome people.
44one is enough
45It really depends on the tattoo. I've been planned on getting one next year. Some can pull them well such as Nicole Richie (her tattoos are awesome!
46I'm like Angelina with her kids...there's really no plan for stopping! lol But really what gets me is the people who think I'm disgusting because I have them. Tattoos are something I remember looking at when I was little and saying "Wow! I want one of THOSE!" So after my 18th birthday, I got my first one and now, I have two sessions left on my 7th. People don't always realize that some of us put months, even YEARS into finding and getting the right tattoos. My husband has been working on a cherry blossom tree sleeve for 4 years now, and it looks just like a watercolor! They can be really amazing art if the artist is talented and the owner chooses wisely and cares for his or her piece properly.
47I have six of them. I can cover all of them without a problem. When people discover that I have them, I always get told that I don't look like the type to have any. I was just wondering, what type do they mean? I love tattoos and I still want just one more. I think that they should mean something to the wearer though.
48Whatever floats your boat!
