Truth be told, I haven't been into hairspray since the days when Firehouse and other lousy rock bands promoted the big-hair look. Truthfully, I wasn't into the music, but I wanted to fit in with the popular girls. So every morning, I'd break out Mom's curling iron, twist my bangs into a crisp claw of curls, and look like a fool despite my best efforts.
I've been scared of hair spray ever since. Recently, though, I tried Bumble and bumble's new Spray de Mode ($15–$25). The hairspray was developed over the course of multiple Fashion Weeks, with stylists offering feedback and B&b tweaking the formula. Spray de Mode promises to offer excellent hold without feeling stiff or tacky, and it does just that. What's notable is that it allows you to rework your hair multiple times, but it still holds the shape of the hair. I've been able to brush it, blow-dry it, curl it, scrunch it — you name it — and each time, it retains its shape without feeling stiff or heavy. I dare say it's good enough to erase those scary junior-high memories.
B&b has set up an extensive promo site for this spray, and while it is essentially a giant commercial, it's also an interesting one. I loved watching the videos to see how regular people were transformed into the cool coiffed models you can see in this gallery.

I love B&B everything.
1And this is why Bumble is amazing.
2I recently tried this and it didn't work for me. My hair just fell down in my face. I love several of their products, but unfortunately not this one.
3I just checked out the promo website. I don't use hairspray, but I must admit that the promo is very creative. I especially loved the older woman in her 80's.
4Yeah, I LOVED the older woman. So glamorous, smart, and cool. She was my favorite of all of the people featured.
5I work at Bumble, get to try all the products! They just gave me a big bottle of this so I will try it later!
6um, i need some bumble in my life like whoa.
you think they might be looking for product testers?
7I must try this!
8I'll have to try this. I've always used Garnier hairspray because it's light on my hair and never makes it sticky. But it's always good to try new things so I'll pick this up!
9I don't use hairspray, it just makes my hair feel icky. But I'm immensely amused by their models
10This is good stuff. It really is very light. I had my bangs cut a little thicker and they needed texturizing. I tried a little spray wax, but it was gross so I got this spray. It made my bangs more piecey and didn't look stiff or like it had been sprayed at all.
I also misted my hair with it to keep the flyaways down for a professional photograph and it worked perfectly. It smells great too.
11I use a ton of B & B products from shine to thickening to styling and brillient and defrizz coco s & c for summer and super in the winter and dry shampoo powder in brown and the leave conditioned that you leave in for like 20 min this but this spray doesn't work for me either as it stay wet for too long no matter how far I pull the can back...i recommend f f in light hold or for more hole that has a pleasant smell kenra who also has an awesome shine serum.
12yeah i agree it can stay a little bit wet...especially if you are used to using something like Does It All cause thats like a crazy light/dry spray. lemme tell ya though, that stuff is awesome...sooo good for thermal protection! when you flat iron or curl iron if your spray it on first, not only does it protect but if gives this crazy shine. i always recommend the bumble sprays like this one or Does It All to people who hate hairspray cause it is really nothing like the White Rain or Shaper that you are thinking about! (PS you can always comb through the hair if you get too much in and it starts gettin stiff)
13I had a wierd experience with this product. I was with a brand new stylist getting ready for a modelling gig and she was talking up all the bumble and bumble products - so had a couple of my friends so I was excited!! The stylist was using a lot of hairspray due to the style (crazy affro hair when I have relatively straight hair so MASSIVE amounts of hairspray) started doing my hair I noticed that the hairdresser had lots of brown dye on her hands (which had not been there previously - she even pointed it out to me) - the crazy thing is that I have not dyed my hair for about a month and a half (trying the natural thing I guess) and then when I washed out the amazing coif that she did for the show, more brown hair dye came out..... is this normal? anyone else had this experience?
