Last week, I ducked into Warren-Tricomi salon for a cut with Christine Symonds. Oh my gosh, I love her — she's fun, she listens, and she gave me the coolest haircut I've had in years. To maintain the style at home, I have to use a flat iron, but I couldn't get it to look quite as good.
Enter Frederic Fekkai Coiff Contrôle Ironless Straightening Balm ($25). It's up for a CEW Beauty Award, and all I can say is, it deserves to win. It smells fantastic, which is a plus. But the real draw is its smoothing, straightening power. When applied before blow-drying, it stops pesky flyaways and makes hair look sleek. I like to cheat and put some on dry hair before using a flat iron. The result is a completely wave-less, cuts-like-glass straightness that looks intimidatingly cool.

Sounds like heaven...
1awesome!
2I love FF products. Definitely want to try this one now!!
3This sounds wonderful.
4I need this!
5I love Frederic Fekkai products, but I've found that balms never work well on my hair for straightening. I find that Chi's Silk Infusion or BioSilk serum works better on my hair. After straightening is when I'll use the balm. Maybe since it is FF, I'll try it.
6I will definitely be trying this, I need all the help I can get to straighten my hair!!
7I bought this as soon as it was available and I don't know if my hair is too thick or what but it didn't do much of anything just made it really poofy and not necessarily straight.
8Good to know about the thick har Schlem33...I have thick hair and could always use a better straightening balm...but I guess I will stick with what I have for now
9Thinking of trying it
10i love the super slick
11straight, but this look
that would help a lot
hmm i can't wait to get my hands on this!
12i have hard to straighten hair, and hopefully this can help!
I have thick curly hair and the only thing that works is BedHead Control Freak Serum. I just wear it curly though because I am growing it out and it takes insanely too long to straighten it. Like hours.
13Hello, I bought the Straightening Balm a few months ago. I have fine hair with a little bit of a wave in it. The balm was awesome when my hair was chin length (people even asked me what I was using in my hair). However, as my hair got longer, the magic dissipated a bit and at times it left me hair looking greasy. Right now, my hair is shoulder length and I am not using the product.
14This stuff prevents me from going insane, and the bottle lasted me nearly a year. Just takes 2-3 pea sized dollops to straighten the rebel out of my insanely stubborn & wavy hair! God bless Fekkai!!
