If you're already brainstorming Mother's Day gift ideas, you'll be delighted to hear that Jo Malone is launching a limited-edition double collection next week called Kohdo Wood. The fragrances were inspired by Khodo, a Japanese incense ceremony.
The first fragrance, Lotus Blossom & Water Lily, is intended for daytime and contains a stimulating and energizing blend of grapefruit, bergamot, mandarin, bamboo, lotus blossom, freesia, honeysuckle, water lily, jasmine, aloeswood, musk, amber, guaiac wood and sandalwood. The second scent, Dark Amber & Ginger Lily, is a calming, sexy fragrance that is intended more for evening wear. It contains black cardamom, pink pepper, ginger, jasmine, lily, rose, orchid, amber, pepperwood, leather, patchouli, sandalwood and kyara incense accord.

In true Jo Malone blending form, the fragrances can be worn alone or layered on top of each other (which makes a great day to night transition). The product range includes two colognes ($50-$95), bath oil ($100) and a candle ($65). I've yet to try them, but I am particularly interested in the daytime fragrance, as grapefruit is a weakness of mine. As for the naughty night scent, I know that leather is a big trend in the perfume world right now, but I'm just not a fan. How about you — which scent (if either) are you more eager to smell?

I totally agree, LOVE grapefruit. Can't wait to smell the day scent!
1I am a Jo Malone addict, and normally layer everything with her grapefruit scent - so I am particularly excited about this one.
2I'd like to smell the night one. I have a ton of lightweight stuff for day, I'd like something heavier.
3They are both yummy! I bought them both!
4Ginger! Cardamom! Pink pepper! It so has my three favorite scents!
5Of course, that doesn't always guarantee a fabulous scent - but this one is sure going on my to-sniff list.
The Daytime one is more enticing to me...it sounds fresh and light for summer.
I hate scents that have patchouli and sandalwood in them, so I probably wouldn't like the second scent.
6These sound Lovely! I use Nippon Khodo incense to add a little fragrance to my home. Their products are unbelievably gorgeous. I haven't even tried them and already want the daytime one. Aloeswood is my favorite scent, Jasmine coming in as a close second. Thanks for letting us know!
7Hmm not sure on this.
8the daytime one smelled so divine i just had to buy it when i was in nyc last week! it smells fantastic layered with either the french lime blossom (a spring go-to scent for me), or the orange blossom. i imagine it would pair great with the grapefruit as well, but i haven't tried that one...
