I've written about my favorite lip balms before, but a year and a half has passed and I've got some newbies in the mix that I seriously can't live without. Lip balms are one of my all-time favorite products because they feel good and they provide instant relief all year round. Here are my top five picks (for now). What's your favorite?

- This small, silver Molton Brown Vitamin Lip Saver ($18) is odorless and flavorless. It spreads easily, penetrates deeply and I often find it missing in my guy's dopp kit!
- Some drugstore brands have got it right! This cool, roller-ball Blistex Cherry Splash ($2.89) is sweet, thin-textured and fast absorbing to correct dryness and chapping.
- Bobbi Brown Extra ($55) is the most expensive salve of the bunch, but it works wonders on my cuticles, elbows hands and on my lips. I can't seem to stay away from the subtle geranium smell and thick shea butter formula.
- Lancome's Baume Baiser ($25) came out as part of the Mystery Game collection. Although it's no longer in stock, you can still find a few of these indulgent padded soft rose-marshmallow scented lip balms online in the UK (and have it shipped).
- A year and a half later, one of my faves is still the amazingly nourishing Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment ($22.50). It lasts long, it's thick, it smells amazing, and I'm the first to admit that I'm a sucker for the cool screw-top cover.

Avon's Care Deeply with Aloe is a favorite. I like Banana Boat's chapstick with sunscreen. It's got a little scent to it I really like.
And anything by Burt's Bees!
1Fresh Sugar is the best~ my boyf uses the Bliss Lipbalm which is very soothing and thick like Fresh, but half the price~
2I've never found anything more effective than Carmex. Although it's not very glamorous I can't live without it.
3Ooh I've have to check that Fresh Sugar out! I'm all about Burt's Bees and C.O. Bigelow Lemon. Yummy!
4I hate carmex. Every time I put it on, I end up wiping it off very soon after.
I have a tiny tin of Nivea creme that I've been putting on my lips at night. It would be excellent as a lip primer before lipstick as it soaks in quickly.
The most expensive one I have is the Nuxe Reve de Miel. It's thick and tastes/smells of honey. I think it's about $22, but it has lasted me forever.
For everyday use (and the one I most often tote in my pocket), I adore CO Bigelow's Mentha Lip Balm stick. It's infused with mint and helps to freshen your breath. Actually, all the CO Bigelow lip balms are good.
5I love the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment - my sister and I are both big fans. Sugar also makes tinted lipglosses that have the same treatment ingredients and yummy smell.
6Burt's bees products are divine. CVS had a whole bunch on clearence and it was like heaven. I have the Blistex Cherry Splash, but I don't like it because of how thin it is. Maybe I'm just accustomed to thick waxy balms, the only thin I like about it is the SPF and the fact that's also kind of glossy at first. Aquaphor's also very good for really chapped lips, they heal them overnight!
7Two of my "if I were stranded on a deserted island and I could only have...." products are Hawaiian Tropic lip balm with SPF45 and Pout Superbalm-which is discontinued.
8I am a lip balm addict. I Kiehl's ,Burt's bees, Neutrogena, the list goes on!
9Love Burt's Bees, but my fave is still Rosebud Salve. Also good for cuticles and rough skin.
10I can't live without lip balm!
11Murad Soothing Skin and Lip Therapy. I love, love, love it! I will never buy anything else.
12My all time favorite lip balm are the C.o. Bigelow mentha lip shines. I think I have about 10 different varieties. I'm a little obsessive
13This bee loves Lush honey trap lip balm!
14I've been using Burt's Bees pomegranate lip balm for the past year or so, and it's amazing!
15I'm a burts bees devotee (plus it's how my fiance and I first kissed)
16I love the Burt's Bees Pomegranate lip balm...smells great and it's really soothing. I also love Smith's Strawberry Salve/lip balm.
Those Tarte 24/7 Lip Sheers are also awesome.
17My favorite, which isn't mentioned is the Dr. Hauschka lip balm. Nothing has ever made my lips feel so good. I think it's typically $13.00 or so
18I am a devout Kiehl's #1 lip balm fanatic for around 10 years now. Love it!!!
19God I love lip balm.
My favorite for the past few years is Chanel's Hydrating Lip Treatment (Soin Tendre Levres). OMG I'm completely in love with it and apply it constantly.
I also love the Blistex DCT, in the light pink-ish container. It works best when your lips are chapped from either the wind or sun.. it's the only one that helps in that situation.
The Lancome looks so yummy, and I love the container.
I also wanna try the Body Shop's Lip Butters. But they seem as tho they'd have that nasty sugary taste when you lick your lips. And I lick my lips alot so I try to stay away from those.
20i use lipsmackers then found out they are rachel bilsons favourite
21I loove the sugar treatment. it is amazing =]
22MAC lip conditioner is amazing!!
23The carmex one
24does wonders for
me....
Blistex is probably the best drugstore brand lip balm.
25My absolute FAVE is Clinque Superbalm in Mango Tint. This stuff is Ah-mazing!
26I've tried more than I'd care to admit. I'm a lip balm junkie. My favourite one to date is Mark Kiss Therapy balm. It's waaaaay better than rosebud salve and the honey rose scent is amazing. A close runner up is Karite-lips Shea Butter Vanilla lip blam. Texture wise, it reminds me of Fresh's Sugar balm, but i prefer this one.
27i love burt's bees original lip balm, although occasionally my lips crave blistex medicated lip ointment. started putting that on at night like i did in high school. i also love blistex DCT. discovered this when i was on accutane for acne, which dries out everything.
28Burt's Bees is #1 for me! I have to keep one at work, home, and my car.

30ow... noone mentioned my all time fav.... it's weleda everon lip balm. seriously... i'll never be w/out it! (and it's only $5)
31By far, THE best lip balm I've used to date is LipSaver by Aveda. It's incredibly rich, emollient, lasts forever, and has a great smell/flavor. Love Aveda
32Dr. Hauschka's Lip Balm and Lip Care Stick.
33I heart Rosebud Salve! My fav lip balm, it's actually beat out my lip gloss addiction. I love that when I have some left over I can rub it all over my cuticles, that it makes my lips all glossy looking & healthy, especially since I bite my lips as a nervous habit so they need all the help they can get.
34I like good old-fashioned Chapstick Moisturizing lip balm. But L'Occitane's shea butter lip balm is awesome as well!
35I'm definitely a lip balm junkie myself, so co-dependent. My ultimate favorite and most effective is Kiehls, Cranberry flavor in the tube form. I really hope the Cranberry isn't seasonal because I can't find it in the stores anymore!!! It's soo yummy smelling. Burt's Bees lip balm in the pot is really good too. Also, can't forget a favorite of that batty Naomi Campbell, the tried and true, Smith's Rosebud Salve. And when you're all done, which will take a while because there's so much, you can use the tin to put bobby pins or weed inside!
36when i was younger and my lip barely needed a thing i used soft lips in cool cherry which i still fiend the smell along with jovan white musk, lol. now that i have grown up an need moisture i use neosporen lip treatment, it heals and moisturize and leave the mildest shine. I use it as a primer. some mentioned pouts discontinued superbalm which was sooo fantastic, went through 3 pots. mac's lip treatment is good but nars's is a bit more fantastic. for night i use vasoline
37aveda lip saver! it's fantastic!
38I love carmex cherry or the target brand equivalent to carmex.
39though not technically a "lip balm" Estee Lauders 8 hour miracle cure is amazing, it works on any dry part of the body and I love to put it on my lips. elbows, and heels! Its a miracle for sure!
