I occasionally do buy them in pairs, but I only use one type of shampoo, whereas I have three different conditioning treatments (my poor, abused hair needs lots of TLC!) that I alternate with the conditioner that matches the shampoo - so I use up the shampoo much faster.

Like Bella, I have 2 - 3 combinations of shampoos and conditioners which I mix and match. Some days I use my deep conditioning treatment after shampoo, and some days I want to use a extra purifying shampoo etc.

I buy them together on occasion. I go through conditioner much faster than shampoo so I'll go through 2 o3 (maybe more) bottles of conditioner in the same time it takes me to go through one bottle of shampoo. Also, I stay away from sulfates in shampoo so a brand might have a conditioner I like, but i won't use the matching shampoo if it has sulfates in it.

I'm a little bit nuts, or at least thats what my hairdresser tells me. I get oogly if I don't have matching shampoo/conditioner. Funnily enough it only has to be the same brand, not the same type in the brand. I will mix and match within the brand at random.

On the rare occassion I will buy pairs; my shampoo & conditioner is usually mis-matched. I buy Frekkai in pairs since I like the formula; however I usually have different needs for shampoo/condition and pairs do not meet those needs.

after going through Fekkai, Keartese, Body Shop L'Anza for years and tons of gloss drops from Johnathan to Frizz Ease ..I found by accident Herbal Essense works wonders and nothing has ever worked for my long, tangled hair I only used the most expensive but the ones that cost 2.50 at Walmart make my hair smooth, straight and tangle free Never would have believed it

I have found that my hair is fussy and needs to constantly be surprised with new combinations. I will buy a cheaper and trusted brand's moisturizing shampoo and deep conditioner, in my case, Aussie or Loreal's Eleve line, and also a more expensive pair, like Redken or Fekkai, and mix and match. That way, on a week where my hair needs something different it won't break my piggy bank and it'll still deliver.

In my opinion, Aussie's deep conditioner has done some serious repair that no other hair product has done of date...my hair is tight and curly, and I blowdry it almost daily, so it's usually very dry, but Aussie's line has left my hair actually hair salon bouncy and flexible!

(Btw: In my experience, Herbal Essences has decent conditioners, but the shampoos are extremely drying.)

I use the same brand/type of shampoo and conditioner because they work for my hair. The bottles came in a big promotional pack with a jar of deep conditioner and since then I've been buying refill bags. I usually buy the refills at different times. Even when I'm getting close to finishing both bottles at the same time I don't like to buy the refills together because I don't have a car, and it's too heavy to carry 2 big bags of hair product along with all my groceries.

I always buy my shampoo and conditioner in pairs. I guess I'm a little OCD about it. I buy them in pairs regardless of how much conditioner I have left over; I always use up my shampoo faster than my conditioner because I use a lot to wash my hair and I always rinse and repeat.

i have different needs for my shampoo and conditioner, so a set doesnt cover it all. I use a super gentle shampoo for my colour treated hair, and a silicone-based smoothing conditioner. i go through each about equally, so i buy new ones at the same time, but they are never the same kind.

I think its BS that shampoos and conditioners don't work as well if you don't buy them together. I have curly, dyed, semi damaged hair. I use totally different S&C. I don't shampoo my hair very often so I don't use much of it but I go through conditioner like mad. I'm kind of obsessed with the healthy sexy hair stuff

I have pretty short hair so I don't have to use a lot of shampoo. I've been using this Seasilk anti-aging sample and I like it and it's lasted me several shampooings.

I like this olive oil conditioner I've been using. It's really good at hydrating, but I'm concerned it may be weighing my hair down.

In terms of conditioning, I probably go through 2 shampoos to my one conditioner. I have really fine hair that I wear kinda short so too much conditioning wears it down!

I have a million bottles of half-empty conditioner because I like to buy in pairs. I go through shampoo at least twice as fast as conditioner...I suppose I'm not using the proper amounts? I dunno. Last time, though, I bought the new Dove Go Fresh with Infusium conditioner.

I recently bought paired conditioner and shampoo since someone was using my shampoo and it ran out. I use more conditioner because my hair is curly and damaged. I usually buy my shampoo and conditioner as I need. I always buy conditioner for damaged hair and shampoo for lenght and strenght or something. But usually the products are on sale like buy one get the other one half price so I have no choice but but them together. Heh

I have particular brands for particular needs, so I rarely buy pairs. (and particular preferences) I always have too much conditioner left, so I tend to re-stock shampoo, and unless it's a highlighting combo or conditioner, I try to use up what I have...seems endless sometimes!
