Nicole Richie arrived at the A Time For Heroes Celebrity Carnival, an event that supports pediatric AIDS, with her hair styled in a center part, milkmaid braids on the sides, and everything secured in a low, messy bun in the back. I wonder if she's mastered the art of braiding herself by now? I'd like to think so, but something tells me that she's probably had help creating this intricate hairstyle.
I'm still not sure how I feel about this look. In the hot summer sun, it's a great way to stay cool and look chic, but braids seem young and unkempt to me. What are your thoughts — do you like or dislike Nicole's bun and braids?

I love nearly anything that Nicole does, she always looks so amazing these days!
I
it. It's sooo cute.
Love it! It's super cute.
I really love it!! I'm bookmarking this for a possible wedding hair do!
She is flipping amazing.
Love the bun, but hate the "boho braid". I don't know what it is about that braid thing, but I hate it!
I don't love it but I also don't hate it...it's just cute.
It's okay.
Love the hair, but she has to get over the huge bug eye sunglasses.
wow, I can see her extensions, I didnt know she had them, I though she was natural. I love her hair no matter what!
So cute! She's such a little hippie, love it.
Perfect! I may just try it myself.
very cute.
i lov nicole. she always does amazing styles.
I love this!
it looks so cute!!
Cute hair! She looks skeletal again though, which I find rather unattractive. She was beginning to look halfway human again during the pregnancy and right after. The extremely bony arms make her look like she's a frail, 95-year old grandmother, not a woman in her 20's.
I do braids into a messy bun all the time! I love it. It keeps your hair out of your face while looking put together at the same time. Also its great when you have dirty hair and don't have time to wash it.
i've always been really partial to braids, i am so happy to be seeing so many of them. i only wish i were better at braiding my own hair.
I like it but she needs a little more action up front. Maybe some loose pieces...or a side part? It's just hard to pull off a middle part...in my mind..
The hairstyle is ok. I don't like it.. to me it's just ok.
I really like it, I wish I could do something like this. It does look young, but she is young! I'm a year older than her & i'd still do it if I knew how.
I like it, though I'm not 100% crazy about the center part.
Her hair is great. However, the sunglasses have got to go. They're wearing her.
She can do no wrong as a fashionista.
I like it from the front or back but the braids look too thick when you see it from the sides.
It looks alright except for the fact that her extensions are showing...
The look is adorable, however, I'd love to see the natural texture of her hair for once. Her hair is naturally curly, right?
I love it:)
I wish my hair did that ... even when it was long enough, it was too thick! My braids would have looked like Princess Leia buns.
I like it, I think its cute and quirky and summery.
Not sure about the center part, which lends it some severity, but when I think about removing the part and pulling it all back, the look might tip over into "Frau" territory, so that would not work either.
I like the messy aspect of the bun, its a nice finish and contrast to the sleeker front of the style.
I have to say though I think that the sunglasses are far too big for her face and do not make the best of her nose.
sans the sunnies tho =D
I think the front looks really harsh. The back is fine, though. If there was a way to make the front section look softer, I think it would improve the look.
i like it, and sorry to be harsh but def not on her, the big glasses and hair style has an alien effect...not her best look
Love it! Everybody is doing this hairstyle for the summer.
I love it! Now, as for those glasses....not so cute.
perfect hairstyle for summer. so cute!
Adorable ... I wish I had any talent at that stuff =)
I like it.Very Cute
