In honor of Sun Safety Week (June 8th-14th), I've decided to bring you a five-post series on beauty products that contain SPF. And I'm not talking SPF 4, 6, or 8, I'm talking the big numbers to keep your looks preserved, your skin protected and your body healthy and happy. Today's topic is facial moisturizers and below are three great products that have piqued my interest. What's your favorite SPF lotion?
I haven't tried anything from Ahava except for their Purifying Dead Sea Mask and I loved it, so when I heard that they launched a line of Mineral Sun Care products I was intrigued, especially with the Anti-Aging Moisturizer with SPF 50 ($25). It claims to guard your skin from both UVA and UVB rays and it's formulated for sensitive skin.
Last Summer, Kiehl's launched the UV Protective Face and Body Sunscreens with SPF 20 ($32.50), which I love. The big news is that they've already released the same version but with SPF 50 overseas and plan to launch it in the US next year — how's that for early buzz!
The sun creams are formulated with Mexoryl technology to ensure that UVA and UVB rays are blocked from penetrating your skin. They are photostable, non-greasy, fragrance-free and sweat resistant, however, they are lightweight in texture so they won't clog your pores.

1please suggest a good one that can be find in a drugstore, these brands are all dept store products, not everybody can afford them, thanks.
2I would be willing to pay for the Ahava one, and I don't think there currently are good drugstore ones with a decent SPF as far as I know.

4if you're looking for a good drugstore type of sunscreen I really recommend Neutrogena's Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunscreen. It goes all the way up to SPF 85 and also protects against UVA. I have very sensitive skin and it works great for me. It's also not greasy or sticky, so it's great under makeup. I think it sells for around 9-10 bucks.
5i love my Olay Complete which i've been using for years. it is 15 spf and is great for my sensitive skin
6I use Clinique Super City Block primer, it has 40 SPF.
7I like Olay's Complete Defense Daily UV Moisturizer SPF 30 for Sensitive Skin for daily facial moisturizer with SPF protection.
I'll also second the vote for Neutrogena's Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunscreen (I think the one I use is SPF 55) for a full body suncreen. I've used it on my face before (although I do use a light dusting of finishing powder, but that's more b/c I have oily skin).
8I also use the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer for Face -- I think it's SPF 70(?) I love it! It's very lightweight and doesn't make me break out. It does make my face a little bit shiny though
9I've been using BeautiControl's Cell Block-C New Cell Protection SPF 20 for a long time. It has UVA/UVB protection, vitamins, and reduces fine lines and wrinkles. It costs about $22. It's excellent!
10speaking of drugstore products, i love aveeno's positively radiant daily moisturizer with 30spf. i burn easily, so for everyday use when i'm not outside most of the day, this stuff is perfect; especially for skin that tends to be dry. if i'm going to be outdoors for more than 20 minutes, i'll either use the neutrogena ultra sheer 70spf or the aveeno continuous protection spray in 70spf on top of my moisturizer.

12I really like the neutrogena one too, I have tried the lancome soliel before and it was waaay to greasy for me (and I have dry skin).
13I love this! 5-7 years ago I used to have friends bring me high spf sunblock from Canada cause we just couldn't find it in the States, and now they're everywhere!
Neutrogena has a nice spf 70 face creme, but it's a bit greasy so we tend to use it more on chest and shoulders. Olay made me break out. One of the Almays made my face burn and itch. Colorscience mineral sunscreen was okay, but quite expensive and hard to tell when it was on and staying on. UV Naturals was awesome in a convertible in Arizona, but is horrendously greasy back east.
We're currently loving Juice Organics spf30 tinted moisturizer. Color seems to work on very pale me and the medium tan husband, glides on like a dream, and it's not overly greasy. If that failed we were gonna try an Aveeno next, but I prefer to avoid the chemicals and like that the minerals work immediately.

bella - do you have any other oil-free finds? I have heard ddf and bobbi brown have some..
15I think you just have to find which one works for you. I've tried the Neutrogena ones and tend to be happy with their products in general. I loved the Aveeno one, but no the Olay regular lotion w/ spf15.
I got some L'Oreal for men stuff for fine lines with spf 15 and boswelox for $5.24 at WalGreens.
Ooh, and they had a big bottle of SeaBreeze toner, the active kind, with 6 free ounces for $3. I am required by my skin to provide toner during the summer.
I love good buys.
16Bella - can you recommend one that doesn't come off the moment you step outside into the heat and humidity? I rarely wear make up, but always wear sunscreen, yet the ones I put on before leaving my apartment seem to sweat off the moment I leave my air conditioned comfort. I've tried Aveeno, Ponds, Oil of Olay, etc. The only one that seemed to work was a $45 bottle from Fresh. Suggestions?
17Neutrogena has an SPF 45 Healthy Defense Daily Moisturizer or something like that. And Olay products don't have terrible SPF either, from what I remember.
I had something from Aveeno that was SPF 30, too...
18emlod10 I agree Aveeno!!!! All the way. I was using Clinque but it didnt have SPF so now I just use it at night and use the Aveeno with SPF for daytime

20Bigestive, try the Neutrogena one. Since I found it I wear sunscreen every day, simply because it doesn't feel like it. It's not oily, and the smell is way better than the usual sunscreens. Actually you can vaguely smell it when you open the bottle, but it's so subtle I don't smell it afterwards.
21yeah, I just switch to Neutrogena Healthy Defense, SPF 45 since the heat started and I love it. It has zinc oxide which Bella wrote about a bit ago as a great sun block. Since I recently started using Retin A, I have also been doubling up with Neutrogen Age Shield Face, SPF 70 which has a stabilizing 'helioplex' complex. I used to use Olay Complete SPF 15, but that won't do anything for me this summer. I am loving Neutrogena!
22Every day I wear Oil of Olay UV defense moisturizer, it has SPF 30 in it. If I know I'm going to be outside for longer than normal, I just opt for wearing regular sun screen on my face. I use Neutrogena Dry Touch sun screen in SPF 45. It's not greasy at all and makeup layers over it fairly well.
23I use the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer, I use the cool spray for my body and face - its very lightweight and not greasy at all. I haven't had any break outs so far and I have combo skin which can get quite oily in the heat.
24i second the neutrogena ultra sheer suggestion (just don't get it too close to your eyes--you'll be crying for an hour), and i like their healthy defense SPF 45 moisturizer, too. my dermatologist recommended the latter, and i love it.
25I'd like to try the one by AHAVA. I got a hand cream of theirs as a gift from my boss' wife & I love it, it's super moisturizing. I wonder if this is oil free though?
Currently i'm using Mark's for goodness face SPF30, I really like it.
26i personally love Olay's Total Effects plus SPF 15 Fragrance Free. i get the benefits of SPF protection and anti-aging. but i wouldn't mind trying AHAVA's; i love their products that i've tried thus far.

28Wow, I read a lot of comments that praise Neutrogena, I must try it. I use Extra Light Face Lotion with SPF 15 from C.O. Bigelow from Bath and Body Works, that's mostly because I work there, but it's a good product.
29Light and oil free are ones I would prefer because I have really oily T-zone.
I have fair, combination skin and I have been using for almost 2 years now La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL 50+ Fluide Extreme. It's a non-greasy milky sunscreen that leaves no white residue and keeps me protected. I live in Europe so I can buy it in pharmacies but I see that in the US you can buy it from amazon.com
