Years ago, I read a magazine article that suggested blow-drying your private area to prevent yeast infections. I thought it was silly, but my ob/gyn says that it can't hurt. Since we're all anonymous here, be honest: Do you use your blow dryer on your nether regions?

hahaha, i've never even heard of this!
Uh no
I do some odd things in the name of health but I have never heard of this one!
I've never heard of this before. I've never had a yeast infection, so I doubt I'd ever start doing this. Actually, I don't even blow dry my hair
haha never heard of this...
I have a few times in my lifetime but no for any particular reason.
I have before, but there wasn't any reason for it. I've never heard that it could prevent yeast infections.
wow i have never heard of this or even thought of doing this before. haha
nope, never heard of this
My luck I would burn something. Now that would be hard to explain.
oh wow i actually HAVE heard of this before!!! haha
You are so freakin me out.
I read that in a magazine years and years ago. I did it for the first time ever yesterday. (Cool button, natch.)
Hmmmm, I have never heard of this before. Are you supposed to after you shower? LoL
I never heard of this until now but it makes sense. The most common way to avoid yeast infections is to make sure everything is dry and there's no trapped moisture down there. I guess drying off with the cool button on wouldn't hurt a bit.
Never even heard this piece of advice before!
I've never heard of this before, and I don't think I'll be trying it out any time soon
I've never done it and I don't think I ever will
I've so done this before! I heard it in a magazine a long time ago too!
hahahah since when??
There was no "I will give this a try," so answered yep to signify that I will. What a good idea.
Um, wow. This is a new one..
if it works i'll try it, but def with the cool button.
yeah, i've heard of this before. its just to make sure that everything is completely dry when you put on your undies because wet and dry areas are like the perfect incubators for various harmful bacteria and fungi.
Well, the last time that I wanted to give myself a nice sleek blowout "down there", I of course had to crack out the hair dryer. I finished the whole thing up with some styling oil and a straightening iron and voila! "The Rachel" style, replicated below my bikini line!
All jokes aside, I've never heard of this, and it is kind of funny. I usually keep that area well...ahem...maintained, so I'm not sure I would ever need to - and like someone else said, you'd have to be really careful to avoid burning yourself! Ouchies! :-0
Blasting hot air up the hole or just on the mound? Either way, sounds faulty to me. Can't trust it.
A blow-dryer is a bit much, but I do wait a while before putting on undies, so things can dry out. I think it's the folds of skin that can collect moisture, not your pubic hair; so it doesn't matter how "groomed" you are.
made me lmao but no
Ummm... isn't it supposed to be moist down there? I can't see how a bit of airdrying could hurt. I would be more worried about harsh soaps causing infections.
A towel works just fine for me.
a few swipes with a towel and some time to air dry would be good enough. im pretty accident prone, i'll probably get a third degree burn with a blowdryer down there.
I don't even use a blow dryer to dry the hair on my head.
Well, it IS hair - so I blow dry my pubic hair if I'm in a rush to get dressed.
I guess I'm the only one here though.
never would have though ......
never would have thought - i meant to say
No and with my luck I'd badly burn myself. I would not want to explain that to a doctor.
Ouch!
I doubt this will actually help with yeast infections. It IS supposed to be moist down there and you naturally have benign bacteria and fungi down there to prevent dangerous microorganisms from colonizing. Infections are caused by disruptions in the normal balance and chemical environment.
I've done it a few times, cool button pressed of course. Only when I don't have the time to naturally dry off and I must get dressed in a hurry.
yep, during a time when i kept having reaccuring yeast infections. everytime i took a shower, i'd dry the the lower bits too. it did help. you just turn the heat on low and not hold it close to dry the area. it helped for me.
I think there's some confusion. It's supposed to be moist INSIDE your vagina, but your labia should be dry to avoid bacterial growth.
never heard of this b4! what in the world....?
To quote Rod Tidwell in Jerry Maguire, "No thanks, I air dry." LOL.
back when I had a muff puff I did sometimes just because it made my pubies a little softer but now that I'm bare, no. Sorry, I realize that is TMI but you did ask!
huh?
anyway my best friend when to an ob/gyn lately and he never mentioned this to her!
