One thing I'm really loving is the way L'Oréal creates products around its spokesmodels. Take, for instance, this Wear Infinite Star Secret eye shadow quad ($7.15). These bronze colors are "Kerry's Bronzes" — as in the actress Kerry Washington — and although I haven't the foggiest idea as to whether she's had any input on the colors, they're very pretty either way. The four shadows all complement each other, and if you have trouble applying them, you can simply flip the package over for some easy-to-follow diagrams.
These colors would look gorgeous on a variety of skin tones, including Kerry's cocoa complexion and my fair visage. To see some pictures of the how it all looks, read more.
If you follow the diagram, this is the look you'll get. I brushed a little shadow along my lower lash line as an experiment, and swept on a bit of MAC Fluidline in Soft Black. (Also, yikes, it's time to break out the tweezers.)

And here are two other shots. At left is what I like to call The Angelina Stare, and then there's a little shut-eye action to show you what's on the lid.

The shadows last for most of the day, but my only complaint is that the color payoff isn't as intense as I'd sometimes like. Don't get me wrong, this is great for a subtle daytime look or, when worn with this style of eyeliner, for an evening out. But the shadow doesn't build much, so if you want a look that screams yoo-hoo, i am wearing bronze eye shadow, you'll have to look elsewhere. Still, I love the versatility of this quad — especially for the price! (And now I'm off to tweeze.)

Love the cat eye.
1I've got the smokey gray palette and the color is very soft as well. The hues are very nice though.
2I don't like the way bronzey, neutral shadown tones look on my skin...I feel like I look washed out and sickly.
3I use the dark shade in the classic khakis L'Oreal duo as a brow powder. I have black hair and most brow powders are either too light, too brown or too dark.
4I have the Aishwarya pallete, designed for green eyes, and I LOVE IT.
5While I agree that the color payoff isn't amazing, with a little effort you can built it up.
And the hues and textures are just lovely.
Jeez you've got gorgeous eyes and the makeup isn't half bad either!
6I bought the Milla Jovovich eyes-cheeks-lips one when I was still in England, and it's handy to just have in your bag for touch-ups, but like you say, the color payout's not great, but it's not a bad product for the price.
7Here's a trick for getting more intense color
8Use a toothpick to scrape some color from the compact, then use your finger and PAT (don't rub) the color into your eye
That's how I get away with really cheap eyeshadow.
I like how the goldish shadow looks underneath your eyes, very pretty. I'll have to try that.
9Looks really nice on you! I almost picked that exact same one out a couple of months ago, but I have a problem purchasing items that I can't try on first. Looks like I'll have to go back and get it
Thanks for the info!
10You have GORGEOUS eyes, bella!
11I really like what you did with the golden eyeshadow under the eye, Bella!
Quick question though: how do you apply such a perfect line of eyeliner? I've been wearing it for years and read all the tutorials I could find, but somehow I can never manage the end..
12I love bronze tones. I will definitely be picking this up.
13Thanks for all the comments! Advah, tell you what — I will work on a tutorial down the line. But I like to use gel eyeliners rather than liquid ones, which are much harder to use. I use a MAC #266 brush with the gel eyeliner, and after practicing a few times, it gets easy. But like I said, I'll come up with a way to show you just how to do it at home.
14I swear by loreal eyeshadow
15Wow, thanks Bella!!
I can't wait for the tutorial, and in the mean time I'll invest
in some gel liner (and brush)!
16I love wearing bronze colors on my eyes. They are so pretty and a great way to do a smoky eye that is a little more understated. Very pretty. I love the thick black eyeliner too. Very sexy and chic.
17I feel like the bronze is too orangey and fakey. Of course I've always gone for the more natural looking eyeshadows...unless of course I'm going out
18Im new to the site and don't know if my comment got reported. Advah - I know what you mean about the difficulty of putting on eyeliner. My solution - I had eyeliner permanently tatooed by a permanent makeup artist. I absolutely love it and it looks perfect ALL THE TIME. Definitely worth every penny and still looks great even though it has been over 10 years since I had it done!!!!!! Also, if you want something more dramatic than what you have, you can always put additional eyeliner on over your permanent style. My eyeliner is a normal size and width and I have it on my upper and lower lids. Even when you go makeupless, your eyes still stand out because you have a permanent line around your eyes. Isn't it cool?
