There are many rites of passage from childhood to adulthood: learning to ride a bike, discovering the truth about Santa Claus, your first kiss — just to name a few. These are experiences that are forever engraved in our minds. Here at Bella, however, I'm more concerned with another important memory: your first beauty purchase. Whether it was when you were 6 or 16, chances are you still remember what you bought. We're beauty junkies, after all, and who can forget her first fix?
There were so many fun bookmarks this week, but in the end, I went with the product that the majority of you purchased first. That honor goes to Maybelline's Great Lash Washable Mascara. TeamSugar members elements, chiquita25, and magalaya all bought this as their first mascara. elements even said "I felt so much older and mature when I first bought this classic mascara!" Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Ha. I went to a parochial school and we couldn't wear makeup so I would buy the clear stuff. I don't even know if they make it anymore!
1My father didn't let me wear lipstick until I was 19!!! My first purchase was a Revlon bright red lipstick.

3CoverGirl Cheekers blush in sable! HA! So old school. I don't know if it was my first purchase, but it was definitely a big hit when I was getting into makeup.
4It was these cute little lipsticks, I can't remember what they were calleed. They smelled like watermelon and candy, and they were striped. All my friends collected them!

Love's Baby Soft was my first fragrance. They still make that too, although it's hard to find. I still wear it on occasion.
11When I was around 7, my sister convinced me to share my birthday money with her and we bought a Maybelline eyeshadow kit in blue. My dad didn't want us to wear makeup and made us get rid of it. But, the following year we joined a children's choir that performed all over the place and on television and we had to wear some makeup for the stage . Aside from performing, I would agree with Bestbunch because I also loved Bonne Bell and my favorite fragrance as a kid was Love's Lemon Soft.

14Anything by Bonnebell was in my "makeup bag," but my mom usually bought those for me when I went with her to Walmart. My own first purchase was a little container of Jane eyeshadow in navy blue. I rarely wore it and still have it, though just for memory's sake. That shade of navy doesn't really work on me!

16i never noticed Maybelline's Great Lash here, on where i live 0_o so my first mascara was Maybelline's Volume XXL and that was on my freshman year in college haha ^_^
