When Aveda launches a new concept, the company tends to do it in bulk. Such was the case with its Outer Peace acne-treatment regimen (and the subsequent men's hair-care line), and the same rings true with the just launched Dry Remedy. There's the requisite shampoo and conditioner, plus a hair mask (and a free comb if you buy the three as a set).
The system also follows the company's tradition of using plant and flower essences in its products. It does this, primarily, with its use of buriti oil and pomegranate, which Aveda claims help penetrate the hair with moisture; and, secondarily, with meadowfoam, soybean, and sunflower seed oils, used to help seal in the moisture.
I haven't tried this particular line, but I'm glad to see Aveda moving in this direction since I've found some of their shampoos, specifically Brilliant and Shampure, to be very drying, especially with daily use. Have you had a similar issue with Aveda shampoo, and, if so, will you try Dry Remedy?

Yes!! With Brilliant shampoo. Though I'm curious enough to try this one!
1I've always loved Aveda products.
2After I use the damage remedy deep condition my hair does feel drier. I'll try this tho.
3I love the scents in Aveda products, but I have really fine hair and their products tend to build up and weigh my hair down.
4The woman who does my hair (she's done it for over 10 years!) uses only Aveda products, and her daughter who is my best friend uses only Aveda products (both hair and makeup/face) so I have used the brand for years myself. It's amazing stuff and it only keeps getting better. I've already had a chance to try the new line and I'm a fan - although I stick with the Be Curly line for my curly locks!
5my bff Holley loves Aveda, I will have to tell her!!
6I don't have dry hair, quite the opposite really. But I only use Rosemary Mint shampoo and conditioner and absolutely love it. I will only buy Aveda!!!
7I use Aveda damage remedy, I tried to switch it up with Shampure but it gave me dry-scalp
8I'll try this .. I want that comb!
I'd definitely try the deep conditioner but I'm a little afraid to use the shampoo and conditioner without hearing more results from it. I can't risk drying out my hair because it takes so long to come back from that.
9well be happy everyone cause i have used this a good bit and i can tell you that i really don't think that this shampoo will be drying anyone out! this product came out to replace sap moss (i don't think the "earthy" aroma really worked for the everyday person). the shampoo is crazy thick, like way thicker than even the masque, so you don't need to use too much. with every aveda product it is important to emulsify the product between your hands thoroughly (the natural ingredients love to separate).
10i have heard from some people that shampure dries them out -- maybe an allergy to one of the wild plants they use (cause i'm sure you haven't come into contact with most of them before). honestly most aveda shampoos are not for daily use they will sometimes dry you. ESPECIALLY brilliant (bella!) which is actually a very clarifying shampoo and meant for people with highly textured hair that only shampoo a few times a week.
as for you perfectscore - make sure you aren't using the damage remedy masque for more than 20 min. if your hair becomes too full of protein it will start to get brittle!
Bella - this product has macadamia nut in it (which detangles) so it is not good for people with nut allergies! Oh, and it also has Jojoba oil which also seals in the moisture. The scents are Palmarosa,Ylang Ylang, Rose Geranium and a hint of vanilla.
This product is great for people with dry or brittle hair.
If someone is finding the products too drying, maybe they should try Scalp Benefits? Thsi is great if someone has oilier scalp but dry hair, or just wants a deep clean of your scalp - the conditioner is super moisturizing! i love it.
Oh, i work at Aveda by the way. I love that place.
11I have had nothing but dry hair since Aveda dropped Sap Moss from their product line. I have written to the company many, many times...taken every survey that they have to try to get this product back in the stores to no avail! I was told the product was to expensive to produce? I am on-line now looking for a product to replace it with an I can no longer get the results that I need with the Aveda line any longer!
What a lost!
