We first saw this horizontal hippie headband hairstyle (wow, try to repeat that phrase five times in a row) on Mischa Barton back in March, and lately it seems to be more popular than ever among young Hollywood.
Mischa repeated this look a few months later at a benefit, and this week alone we've spotted fellow trendsetters Ashlee Simpson and Nicole Richie adorning their long and wavy center parts with thin, stretchy headbands too. Do you think you're ready to jump on board the hippie train and wear your headband across your forehead?

5the only time this is appropriate is at like a summer music festival, ala kate moss at glastonburg. it looks rediculous on all of the above, as well as molly sims last summer!!
6Not for me. I'm anyway not a fan of appropriating the fashions of eras before my time. I think I'd feel a bit poserish if I tried.

8people by me have been wearing this for ages! but maybe thats just because i have a lot of hippie friends. i think rumi of fashiontoast can pull this look off AMAZING!

10i think nicole is the only one in that group that can really pull this look off. she looks good as a hippie. i happen to love this look, but my parents were hippie's and i grew up in a hippie community so i guess it's a bit nostalgic for me.

27I think this trend could be nice for ladies who look absolutely gorgeous with a center part on its own. In other words, if you can't part your hair down the middle without looking weird, I wouldn't recommend it.

29I like hippie-style, but I really hate this look. It's not cute, it makes the hair puff up funny in the back, and can you imagine the line it leaves on your forehead when you take it off? Yeah, yuk.
30I would never wear it, but some ladies can pull it off.

39I hate this. It looks bad, like your headband slipped down your face. Ashlee's is supposed to match her hair but clearly she's just wearing fake hair around her forehead since it doesn't originate anywhere on her head.

42the hippie headband is nothing new in the indie/folk rock scene. kids have been intermittently wearing this look before it became popular. i like it, on the right person it can be very cute.
