The plumped-up ponytail is basically the same as a regular pony, but if you're looking for a unique way to give it your own special oomph, you can add a little bit of height to the front and some volume to the back.
This creates an overall dressier and more polished look. To find out how to re-create the same beautiful look as Emmanuelle Chriqui in just a few simple steps, read more.
- Step 1: Apply a palmful of mousse into towel-dried hair. Use your hand to scrunch your hair to give it more volume.
- Step 2: Then, back-comb or tease your hair at the crown until you reach your desired height and gently brush it over to smooth hair out using a boar-bristle brush.
- Step 3: Now it's time to gather your hair into a ponytail and secure it at the back of your head just above your eye brows with an elastic band or cord.
- Step 4: Tease the ponytail and then apply a light hold gel to the ends. When you are finished, mist your entire head with hairspray and scrunch a little bit more before it dries.

I'm always afraid that I'll end up looking like Priscilla Presley on her wedding day!
1thanks for the how-to! I will definitely try this look.
2I'm a big fan of the party poof, but I just can't pull it off.
3Thanks for the directions! I'll try this tonight or tomorrow morning [whenever I get the chance to wash my hair..]. Hopefully it'll work! [My hair's naturally curly but for some reason difficult to tease..]
4I've tried to do this a million times, but I always fail. I think maybe my hair it just too fine. Who knows.
5after years and years of the same thing, my hair naturally falls into a side part. so it won't party pouf right! I need tips on how to retrain your hair to fall a different direction
6Im with scmeggiry, my hair only wants to go one way. My hair is very thick and curly, I usually straighten it but this do still won't work. . . So for now I'll just stick with the low pony tail : (
7Thanx for the how to directions. I will definitely try it out.
8beautiful:)
9This is one of my favorite no fuss looks!!! So cute!
10She is so pretty! I like that look, but this how to definitely won't work for me. I need to blow dry my hair first otherwide it's way frizzy (think Anne Hathaway in The Princess Diaries before the makeover).
11I'm going to give this a try - thanks for the directions!
12My hair doesn't scrunch because it's naturally stick straight, but i suppose i'll still try it
13The how-to says "scrunch" but in the pic her hair is straight... I'm sure either way works just fine.
I have fine hair so this look doesn't work for me, I wish it did.
14Emmanuelle looks beautiful! I'm glad we have similar looks!
