Back when InStyle's Celebrity Makeup Match launched, I raved about how it serves up color matches directly from A-listers' makeup artists. It seemed like this must have involved a lot of work — but seriously, you have no idea.
In addition to interviewing the people who get stars like Angelina Jolie ready for the red carpet, the InStyle folks cleared out a room and filled it with makeup. After gathering their notes, they got to work sorting all of the eye shadow, lipstick, and other cosmetic goodies; when all was said and done, they had thousands of products to sort through. As you can see, it's pretty much makeup heaven. Have you tried the Celebrity Makeup Match? What did you think?

It's a fun concept but the choices are limited. I'm a NW15/20 w/reddish brown hair & blue/green eyes. My hair is dark enough to go w/Angelina Jolie but her skin is darker & warmer so that I have to go w/Julianne Moore even though I'm far from a true redhead.
1I keep getting Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie, neither of whom have my coloring.
2I agree that the options are too limited. Since I didn't expect it to include that many, I already knew I would get Anne Hathaway even though in my case I think we actually do have the same coloring more or less and we don't necessarily have very obvious differences in exact hair color or skin color/tone.
3OMG. I want to be in that room. LOOK at all the makeup!!!! *sigh*
4I got Angelina when I tried it, and I don't feel like our coloring is THAT similar. None of the featured celebs seemed to be a good match to my skin tone though, so I guess Angelina was as close as a match as I could have gotten.
I think someone like Zooey Deschanel would be a good match for my coloring (pale skin, dark hair, light eyes).
5I too knew that I was going to get Anne Hathaway because we have very similar coloring. Like the others said, they need to add some more choices, though.
6Seems like a lot of work for what it ended up being.
7I was semi-impressed... but I didn't really feel like it matched me all that well.
I dont like it. but thats just because my type isnt there:
auburn hair
light-medium skin
light eyes
come on! they should have made it with a celeb for each combination possible
