I've got a little thing for Kelly Ripa. Not only is she a successful actress turned daytime talk show host, but she also has a successful marriage, an incredibly fit body, and three kids. And I love how she uses playful, quick-witted, sarcastic banter with the Reege.
So when I saw this photo of her at The Hamptons annual Super Saturday charity clothing event, in Watermill, NY, this weekend, I was floored by her ability to look darling in a long maxi dress, mussed beach hair, and understated yet polished daytime makeup. For product suggestions on how you can create Kelly's summertime glow at home, read more.
- FACE: Start by applying a tinted moisturizer with SPF to your skin. This will act as a light base to even out any redness, and it will also moisturize and protect you from burning. You really don't want to go for anything too heavy, especially when you're going to be out and about in the hot sun.
- CHEEKS: Next, spread a liquid luminizing bronzer all over your face (blending well, of course) and top it off with a pinky-peachy blush. Apply the blush to the apples of your cheeks and blend upwards and outwards (towards the tops of your ears).
- EYES: Kelly's eye makeup is very neutral and shouldn't take long to recreate. Sweep a light brown shimmery eye shadow, such as Bare Escentuals Bareminerals Eye Shadow in Grace, from above the lash to the crease and add a little bit of highlighter if you wish. Then, line eyes with a medium-hued purple pencil liner (it looks much softer than black) and apply two coats of black mascara.
- LIPS: Using a lip brush, apply a creamy, shimmery nude lipstick, such as Chanel Aqualumìere Sheer Color Lipshine SPF 15 in Como, and you're set to go!
