I've tried to replace my beloved Bumble and bumble Grooming Cream before to disastrous results; but, after an hour long quest looking for my faithful B and b in a new city, I gave up and pressed my luck again at the drugstore. Of the selection, Marc Anthony Strictly Curls Curl Defining Lotion ($7.99) seemed the most promising as a product that would control my waves without leaving my hair stiff.
Even though I have a ton of hair, I only used a dollop and my hair was shinier, less frizzy, and my waves more defined. The only possible drawbacks are the scent and texture, which are exactly the same as lemon custard. To the point where I felt like I was putting dessert on my head. But the scent isn't unpleasant per se and doesn't linger. And once I saw that it also has sun protection — and Grooming Cream doesn't —I was sold. Will I still buy the Bumble? Probably (I like the smell better and how the cap turns closed), but it's great to have a backup.

Thanks for the review! I have always looked at this product, but never purchased because I hate crunchy curls and am afraid of trying new things that never work out. Very disappointing, but this I will have to try.
1I used to use this and liked it alot, but I can never find it anymore.
2you know that bumble just relaunched curl conscious recently right?? you need to try the reactivating mist. it has a really light hold and it works wonders on slept on or otherwise kinda malformed curls. i put it in my hair and diffused the other day and i looked like i had a mini fro (it was cute in a later years judy garland way hehe). they have travel sized ones too so you must try it.
i also have to day i don't think you will find anything like grooming creme that isn't more expensive...that stuff is amazing.
3I like this but found that after using it for several weeks that my curls started to get progressively crunchier, I'm guessing it was just product build up but it started to get annoying so I stopped using it. plus it's just a whee bit expensive but it's worth spoiling my curls (;
4love Bumble & Bumble, so if you like that and this, I'm sure I'll probably like it too - sounds pretty good!
