I had an ex-husband that doused an 'altar' in sandalwood oil, making the whole house reek for weeks. Sigh, and I used to love sandalwood.

I think back to the cologne's of past boyfriends when I smell them again. The most recent wore Usher... But none have worn my favorite, which is Vera Wang for men. lol So that is at least saved for to enjoy.

Not an ex, but this guy I COULD NOT STAND who was in one of my grad school courses. My bf used to wear Issey Miyake's l'eau d'issey and I loved it on him ... then I met this stupid guy and he was such a creep and RUINED that scent. The next time my bf wore it, I told him he'd have to retired it PERMANENTLY b/c it immediately made me think of this guy and made my blood boil! I'm in search of a new one for him ... thinking possibly Marc Jacobs.

Yes. I can't remember the name of his perfume, but it was a typical yet very nice and subtle guy perfume - whenever I walk behind a guy who wears some sort of guy perfume I still choke up a bit. And same thing with his deo.

Mmm one of my exs wore Givenchy Pi..then another of my exs wore it too...now I can't stand it...it brings back bad memories. Also one of my exs also used this brand of liquid detergent for his clothes...and he always smelled of that laundry scent...that smell makes me gag now.

I can't stand Curve on anyone other than my exhusband. He always smelled so nice. I don't like anything other than Adidas fragrances on my husband. There's something in their fragrances that just makes me melt. Before him I would have never picked that fragrance out for a man. My first exgirlfriend wore Tommy Girl with Sandalwood. She smelled really yummy. Smells and scents are so important.. Luckily no one has ruined a scent for me.

Oh gosh yes-- my ex wore this scent from a&f so now EVERY time I walk past the store, I smell it and I feel the need to run. It sucks because he and I had this insane love of Hot Tamales (the candy) and whenever I smell the a&f scent, I also smell cinnamon!

HAHAHA Lovestephunnie I'm in the EXACT SAME situation. The ex wore A&F Cologne and he doused himself in it and now even when I am remotely near (or even 100 feet away) from A&F in the mall or if I smell it on someone I freak. It makes my skin crawl now

fortunately - i don't put that much importance on something that an ex gave me or wore. there's this one perfume that i LOVE that i probably never would have tried if an ex hadn't bought it for me, and now to this day i'll still wear it - it's one of many that i rotate.

I actually love the scent a guy used to wear! He was one of those bad boy types and we had a month long fling (best way to describe it,ha), nothing serious what so ever... And so there were no hard feelings or anything when we went our separate ways, so the smell brings back a lot of good memories.

Aqua Velva aftershave. It was our little thing; when he'd shave, and put on his Aqua Velva, he'd come to where ever I was at and say "CLEAN! SMELL!" and I'd thus proceed to put my nose on his cheek and take a big whiff of that smell. I loved it.

Oh, fo sho. I actually TOTALLY mishandled the relationship, and smelling his cologne always reminds me of him, which always reminds me of how I treated him SO badly without meaning to. I don't even know what it is, but I recently smelled another guy wearing it and couldn't bring myself to talk to the guy for more than a minute before I had to excuse myself!!

My ex wore pretty cheap cologne. He wore Lynx Voodoo and Rexona (some random smell). Thankfully my current beau occasionally breaks out the Hugo Boss.

Aqua di Gio...it seems to be a popular one that ruined it for us. i have mixed feelings about it. i don't think i could ever date anyone else that wears it as a guy I date for 2 years straight and then off and on for the past 4 years wears it. There's mixed feeling because its one of those "someone who makes me so angry because of all the hurt but someone that makes me the happiest person in the world at the same time" kind of thing. it's one of those scents that i immediately smell when another man wearing it walks by and i just stop for a minute and remember the good times. haha!

Sort of...I have this perfume that I LOVE, called ...Be Kissable. I wore it all the time when I was with my ex, and when we broke up, I stopped wearing it, because it reminded me of him too much. I went back to my original scent, True Honesty.

Goddess by Baby Phat was what I used to wear but can't because of the memories it brings back. For me, scents and smells from anything be it hygeine products or just the atmosphere in a place carry a lot of meaning and thus trigger memories.

Kenneth Cole Black, and Guess something (the blue one). Both men I had completely fallen for wore Guess, at times it got confusing. Its hard talking to him again, and he still wear the same cologne, brings back urges that go with the scent.

Unfortunately, yes. I used to wear Burberry Brit and my ex wore the man's version, and every time I wear it now I think back to when we first started dating, so I eventually threw what I had left away. I still wear Prada, even though when I'd wear it he said I smelled like Christmas. Sigh...
