Nail technicians, despite their increasing Fashion Week importance due to the increased interest in bags and shoes, are usually relegated to performing their jobs while the models get their hair and makeup done. But changing polish eight times a day can be a nightmare for both models and pros. Exhibit A: On the left is a photo of model Coco Rocha showing me her manicure from the Thakoon show. Today's New York Times has an interesting story where the writer, Natasha Singer, goes undercover with Creative Nail Design as a nail technician during New York Fashion Week.
