Curly hair can be challenging. To achieve soft looking ringlets, there needs to be just the right amount of moisture and pH balance in the product. The goal is to hydrate, tame and keep frizz away from your precious curly Q's.
Worry no more! These three shampoos and conditioners have been designed specifically for wavy and curly hair. They will add shine and help to improve the texture of your curls. To see more products for curly hair click here.

It's made with a sweet smelling blend of honey nectar and ginseng and will detangle your curls without weighing them down. Luscious Curls will also control, smooth and nourish your hair.

Those are a bit expensive...anyone have any cheaper recommendations for curly hair shampoos?
1I was very surprised Davines wasn't on here
Lilren, the Davines LOVE Smoothing Conditioner is about $13, but it lasts forever. I was a bit skeptical because I usually have to slather on tons of conditioner (=mucho money), but with this (it comes in a jar) you only need a half-dollar sized amount and my hair is really curly. One jar lasts about 4 months, compared to every other conditioner I use that lasts a month or 2.
2It smells like fresh cut grass and spring-y stuff too. My stylist recommended it and I am so thankful.
There is a matching Shampoo for the collection too
3i have both the deva curl and the fekkai, and i must say, i LOVE the deva curl line even more than the fekkai. There is also a leave in conditioner and gel for the deva curl line that are wonderful.
4i am a hair product junkie! i have curly hair and love the frederic fekkai luscious curls but i must say i am intrigued with the last product too. i may have to try it. i am
at poo!
5john frieda frizz-ease makes a great curl shampoo and conditioner, that is cheap and at drugstores. I love it for my curly hair.
6Great, thanks gals!!
7John Frieda? Thanks, I'll def try it!
8I tried different, super hydrating shampoos/conditioner (among those I could afford), and I must say that Dove and Herbal Essence make you hair soft but totally flat/straightish.
Pantene and esp. L'Oreal do marvels though, and they're 'fairly' cheap.
pantene hydrating curls shampoo and conditioner along with their curl creme is a cheaper alternative as well. however you should be careful using certain shampoos/conditioners like that because they can coat your hair and in the long run really damage it. in fact many contain polymers which is essentially a silicon type product that does give curly heads a level of control and softness and less frizziness. but, like i said, that is only because it is coating the cuticles which will damage hair after awhile.
9i tried one from fekkai line and best stuff i ever got - it was deep conditioner - $55 - worth every cent though - it transformed my hair. anyone else swear by this stuff? anyone have a bad experience with fekkai - curious...want to try more of his
10Are there any shampoos/conditioners that you recommend, audreystar?
11I do think $40 is a bit much for shampoo conditioner. I have curly, soft hair -- which tends to frizz in humid environments and lie-down-and-die in dry ones -- and the best recommendations I can give are for the John Frieda line. I use the Curl Around shampoo, conditioner, and Dream Curls spray. Stay away from the mousse; I found it made my hair a little stiff and less curly.
12Another weird tip: if you are in a VERY humid environment (mid-summer Houston, Miami, Dubai), Aveda's Hang Straight lotion can actually tame your frizz. But if you use it in less than extreme circumstances, you'll just lose your curl.
13I LOVE Frederick Fakkai! I've never used that shampoo--even though I do have curly hair, but I've used some of the other products like the glossing creame, which is the best thing ever. Someday, I totally want to splurge and go to his salon on Rodeo. I really think it would be worth it even though it will probably cost $34894057839047534897638946, yeah exactly that much
14i have to say i'm a big fan of the curl conscious line from bumble and bumble...but it also is a bit expensive. i think i may try the deva curl. a former roommate of mine swore by them and she had crazy nicole kidman kind of curls...
15My sister uses the Catwalk Tigi Curls Rock line sometimes and when she does, it works wonders. Her hair's usually all over the place and all dry and unkempt but not with Curls Rock.
16is the glossing creme really that great cgw??? do you have curly or straight hair - anything else by fekkai u can suggest
17I am surprised that nobody mentioned Ouidad products. I have just started using them, and I think they're great. One of my friends proclaims that she would rather give up food for a week than give up her Ouidad products!
I have thin, low volume, frizz-prone hair that can be really curly or just a frizzy mess depending on the products and technique that I use. Ouidad seems great so far!
18i have used the fekkai line and absolutly love it. i have shoulder length, super-thick, big curls and keeping them under control has been a battle for the last couple of years. i used to use the redken fresh curls line, which i liked a lot but i felt it made my hair seem stiff. last year i switched to fekkai after reading about it in lucky, and don't think i will ever go back.
right now i use the glossing shampoo and conditioner, the luscious curls leave-in lotion and either the luscious curls spray or the beach waves spray (it's only available in the summer, they just started stocking it now). i know that sounds like a lot of product, but seriously, my hair is so soft, frizz-free and natural. you can touch it and it isn't crunchy and has a lot of movement to it.
so yes, i would recommend the frederic fekkai line to anyone with curly hair. in fact just today i was stopped by three people telling me they loved my hair and asking what i use.
oh and if you want to straighten your curls (heaven forbid) the straightening gel works really well too.
19I use Pantene, and sometimes tigi, and they work great!
20The kerastase elasto-curl line works really well as well. But, it's even more expensive than any of these. Might have to try a few of these!
21I would really like to try these out but they're a little out of my budget for hair products. I'm all about anything to tame my crazy locks on certain days.
22I use bumble and bumble's curl cream. it keeps your hair really soft, not stiff or crunchy
23I was like a kid in a candy store when I first got my Made from Earth 'Tea + Protein Shampoo' and the 'Peppermint Organic Conditioner'. .....It smelled so strong. I put 5 drops in my hand and my family thought and said whoa...that is strong ! So after a few days ...I tried it again....I used a drop and just put it on the ends. It did not smell as strong.
I swear to you....the second time i used it...I could tell my hair strands were stronger...no lie. Your hair will smell perfect and feel good for the next couple of days. I bought a lot from this company and I learned that.. after you use it...you kinda find out what is best for your hair.
I am on my third week and my hair loves the Made from Earth shampoo and conditioner. I pray before I use anything and I'm tellin you it felt like these products were prayed over before i used them.
My hair is silky...it just feels good. My hair hasn't felt this healthy since....I was a little girl. My hair feels wonderful in such a short time....
You should try it...! It's not for everyone but for me...hmmm. It hits the spot. I don't want to use anything in the hair salon, grocery or drugstores anymore.
Once you have a good product...you don't want to ever let it go!
