2009 Critics' Choice Awards: Angela Bassett

Longtime readers know how much I love Angela Bassett, especially because she can wear ladylike styles with the best of 'em. At the Critics' Choice Awards, she proves that you don't need to be 21 years old to pull off a bold eye shadow color. This lilac shade stands out but isn't garish, pulling attention to her eyes while remaining elegant. At least, that's my take on it. Do you like this look, or do you prefer something more subdued?

She is always beautiful, and this in my opinion may actually be the most gorgeous she's ever looked. the picture is bad, but I still think the makeup looks great...

I love the pretty lilac eyeshadow on her eyes,it's beautiful! I'm just not too crazy about that particular photo of her, her expression looks alittle strained to me.

She usually looks great, but this isn't working. I was hoping Fabsugar had a full-length picture so I could see if the hair made more sense with the dress. I hope it does, but here she just looks drab.

Love Angela but she has the same issue I have with the makeup. Mature women don't need that much eyeshadow under the eyes. It makes us look like we are trying to hard. Natural beauty doesn't need to be enhanced that much.
