2009 Critics' Choice Awards: Katy Perry

Last year, Katy Perry shot out of nowhere to become one of the biggest pop stars of the year — partly because of her quirky retro style. For the Critics' Choice Awards, she took it way back to the '50s, wearing fat curls in her hair and plush fake lashes on her lids. It's a little Dita Von Teese, but somehow, Katy makes it her own. i love the hair and make up i dont reckon it suits her, looks like she's trying to hard, and she is pretty just this look doesnt sit right with her. and black hair doesnt go with her colouring,

Wow, Katy looks alot better since her breakup. She's made her eyes the focus and it's a clean look. I like it alot, her best yet.

I can't tell if it's the makeup or if I just don't like her face, but something about this is not working for me. I think that this "old Hollywood pinup" look she's doing is maybe just not as original or as exciting as she thinks--at least to me.

Is it just me or does her face really look lopsided in that picture?? But to answer the question - no, it's not a great look for her.

I don't get why everyone is falling over themselves about her. She has such a strange face to me. Annoying on all fronts: music, personality, style. Can she go away already? :oy:

This look does nothing for her. And sorry, but she's no Dita. She tries way too hard (fashion, music, being relevant), and everything about this chick annoys me.
