2009 Independent Spirit Awards: Mariah Carey

It's a sunny day in Santa Monica, I'll give her that, but those oversized sunglasses make it pretty hard to evaluate Mariah Carey's makeup. I can see her well-outlined eyes, but I'm not sure what kind of shadow or mascara she's also working up there while working the red carpet. Her cheeks are lightly colored and her lipstick's a glossy pink — no glitter in sight.

For her hair, Mariah opts for a middle part with loose waves that don't look overly styled. Do you like her look or do you simply wish we could see more?

I like this a lot. It does look like she hasn't put in a lot of effort but I think she pulls it off. It's very clean, tidy and natural.

I think sunglasses on the red carpet is obnoxious. I understand it may have been sunny, but the point of the red carpet is to flaunt it all, not hide it. And no one else had trouble walking in the sun without the sunglasses.

Some people are sensitive to flashing light. It would give me a migraine. It's hard to say what it is, it doesn't necessarily mean she's a diva.

There's really no point in wearing sun glasses on the red carpet. She looks the same always. She should switch it up.

She wears sunglasses EVERYWHERE, including at night. It drives me crazy! Also read somewhere before that it was because she's a total diva and doesn't want anyone looking her in the eyes.

Meh it's okay. I'm sure she looked pretty under the sunglasses anyway; I just hate that she's wearing them on the red carpet.. :\ major faux pas in my book. kinda like when people wear them indoors lol I mean why?
