Welcome to part II of superior spot treatments. Every gal gets a pimple or two and these products help to instantly banish blemishes! They won't over dry your face or cause redness and irritation to make you look and feel worse. They are gentle enough for sensitive skin, but strong enough to fight your sebaceous glands and wipe out icky whiteheads, blackheads and pimples.
I have to say that I'm a little surprised so many of you have an obsession with Mario Badescu's Drying Lotion, $17. My old roommate used to swear by this calamine lotion concoction, and I've used it a number of times, but unless my zit was really juicy, it didn't do a whole lot for me.
I decided to give the Mario Badescu spa a call to see if they could enlighten me some more about their cult product, but what they basically said was what I thought was true. It's a gem of a product if you want to dry up whiteheads and it does have salicylic acid in it to prevent a new pimple from forming in the same spot.
The only problem I have is that in this day and age, I would so much rather apply something invisible. Maybe it's psychological, but it makes me feel worse to look in the mirror and see a whole bunch of pink patches.

Anthony Logistics Spot Therapy, $16, is a fab treatment for both men and women to help treat acne and pimples. It targets an individual blemish, kills the bacteria, speeds up the healing process and helps prevent new blemishes from forming. It contains salicylic acid as well as AHAs and licorice extract to exfoliate dead skin and calm redness. Use as often as necessary.
Neutrogena On-the-Spot Acne Treatment, $6.59, is a spot acne treatment that won't break the bank. It is made with a high concentration of benzoyl peroxide (2.5%) to help kill the bacteria in your blemish but it won't irritate or dry out your skin. It will also help prevent pimples from forming and it is safe for all skin types. Use two to three times a day for optimum results.

1I love Mario Badescu, but only for major crises. If you get it on early enough, you can head off impending doom.
Neutrogena used to do these little band-aids with their on the spot treatment that you wore overnight. Those were awesome. Do they still make those?
2I looked up the Mario B stuff. It gets rave reviews all around, but I am concerned the #1 ingredient is alcohol. I guess if it is just a spot treatment-ok. Alcohol will kill bacteria and dry things up. Maybe I'll try a little bit of vodka next time- at least it would be invisible.....
3Sofi - I think the alcohol is mostly just sitting in the bottle, keeping the pink stuff from drying out.
4u reallie dont feel the alcohol..in the drying lotion..i swear by this tiny little bottle..
5note..do not shake the bottle.. the pink stuff is suppose to stay on the bottom and not mixed.
I recently started using Murad's Acne Complex, and I already see a difference.
In my
opinion, their spot treatment works really, REALLY well, albeit just a tad drying.
6bella, when are you gonna do the post on redness and scarring? what is your opinion on the MD scincare daily peel pads on skin that is red from breakouts? my skin is also not that oily.
7this works great!!

8your right creamy,.. you dont mix it at all,.. you just dip a q-tip into the bottom and apply to the problem at hand
it stinks
but it works
Jennifer76 - it's so weird you said that b/c I was just thinking about those the other day. I bought some like, 7 years ago, used them all up and they were great! Then I never saw them again
I really need some right now, I'm having a massive breakout!
9i loved those neutrogena spot bandaid-things! i was using the proactive system for years but it didn't really help that much and i felt like it was becoming a scam.
10LOL Juicy zits.
11Clean & Clear Persa 10 is AMAZING- 10% BP, so it kicks butt and will deliver results. It got me through those dark acne-ridden years...
12I've used the MB drying lotion and I don't see what all the fuss is about. If I have a large white head, it just ends up half hardening it. Sometimes the pink stuff even gets stuck in the pimple skin and you end up having to rub it out. And it DOES sting a bit. I've also tried the murad spot treatment which didn't do much for me either. I dunno, maybe I have super pimples or something
I'm gonna try the Origins one next and I hope it
works better then the other two.
13i cant wait to try the first bottle!
14I use the neutrogena "on the spot". It takes awhile but does it's job pretty well.
15use the regular generic calamine lotion before you go to sleep.. it works wondersss!! and u save like 12 bucks cuz its usuallt like 3-4 bucks in drugstores
16I recently purchased Mario Badescu's Drying Lotion and so far, I have to say I have not seen any results on any of my pimples (of various sizes).
I'm desperate, so I'm definitely going to try the products you've recommended.
