Welcome to the third installment of Curly Q's. This post features serums specially formulated for curly hair. Cremes, lotions and potions are fantastic for curls because they give curly hair (which tends to be more coarse and dry than straight hair) moisture. This results in hair that is softer, shinier and bouncier. Since I have pretty straight hair, I'm no expert on curls, so please let me know what you think!
Aveda's Be Curly Curl Enhancer, $18, is a hair lotion that helps intensify, define, and tame your curls. It fights frizz and adds serious shine to your hair. Use a small amount on wet hair and distribute evenly.

Fekkai's Luscious Curls Creme, $20, is intended to liven up and help define your precious curls. It is ideal for curly, wavy, or permed hair and will help soften, texturize and mold your hair without making it feel stiff or sticky. It smells really great too since it is made with honey nectar and ginseng. It will also help fight fly-aways and frizz!
Goldwell Curl Definition Instant Serum, $6, is a concentrated potion intended to help stabilize and revitalize naturally curly or permed hair. Your hair will feel hydrated, alive and full of bounce and elasticity.

On behalf of my curls, thanks!
1i use the frederic fekkai luscious curls creme. it really works.
2i use the second one too. it smells so so good. and fab's right, it doesn't ever feel crunchy. i've been meaning to try the aveda stuff.
3i LOVE aveda be curly! i use it w/ their be curly gel too, it's fantastic!
4i agree with the Aveda. i picked it up on a recommendation from another Pop member and it worked beautifully! my hair is soooo tough to control but this bought just the right amount of control and bounce.
5i'm a hairstylist, with naturally wavy hair. i have used aveda be curly for years and recommend it to all of my clients with wavy and curly hair. it is the BEST!!!!
6Not all curly hair is coarse. My hair is baby fine but naturally curly. I wish it had more volume -- that's my biggest problem!
7sigmaration, my hair isn't coarse at all! i have very thick hair but its very soft, and permed, and be curly has worked like a dream for me
since i have so much hair, my best method is to put be curly in while wet, and then hang my
head upside down and use a diffuser to dry it.
8I have wavy hair with a lot of volume, which is not dry at all, but very frizzy, a nightmare....
I have never used the Aveda, but would like to try it. Then again, 18 $ might be too much for my student budget, since I need a lot of lotion ot get my hair tamed. Currently, I am using a cheap anti-frizz lotion from Dove, which works quite well and sometimes the finishing lotion from John Frieda.

Of all the things I've lost, my mind I miss the most.
9i think this is a good product, but kinda doesn't smell all that great, which is really weird for an aveda product. i also tried the anti-frizz stuff from dove cause i'm a student too, but it seemed to make my hair MORE frizzy. but i'm of the fine, wavy hair types. maybe it's more for the coarse curly hair.
10So, are there any curly product for straight hair?
11Rawphish - I have STICK straight hair and have been using the BE CURLY from Aveda (on recommendation from my stylist) with a diffuser and it works great! I get lots of soft wave and great volume. Only thing, you can't brush it straight, the product gunks up, so if you decide to go back to straight in the same day, you have to wash your hair!
