Everyone has a few quick, two-minute hairstyles that we throw together when we're running late. But few of mine look as cute as this one. While backstage at the Karen Walker Spring 2009 show, I spotted Teen Vogue Beauty Assistant Maura Lynch sporting this cool twist on braids. "I was in a rush this morning," she said of her hair. Maybe so, but it's a cool hairstyle.
Recreating this style is so quick and easy that you could practically do it in your sleep. Gather your hair into two plaited pigtails at the nape of your neck. Tie the ends with small hair elastics; Goody's Ouchless are great because they're clear, so they won't stand out. Then, loosely weave the braids together, securing them with bobby pins. Very easy, very chic — and very Teen Vogue.

So cute, but don't think I could pull it off
1It looks so nice, I'll try it for work. I think it would be good for me, because I always wear my hair up around children (I'm a teacher), but I'm not quite sure I could pull this off and have it look that nice.
2I did this style on my sister about 4 years ago for her prom or some formal at school. It's been around, but it's always good to be reminded of simple, but potentially glam hair dos.
3I actually do something very similar to my hair about 3 days a week! it gets my lazy girl (read:hungover morning) stamp of approval!!
4thanks, I am going to give this a shot!
5"Loosely weave" them together? I still don't see how that will get me that cute do.
6I like it. Is Teen Vogue too young for a 34 year old? I like it.
7Cute! Love braids.
8I like the braid trend we are seeing these days. i wish I could french braid my own hair!
