Do You Get Beauty Buyer's Remorse?

A friend and I were discussing the new vibrating mascaras yesterday, when she mentioned buying a heated lash curler for $30. Petrified to put something hot and moving near her eye, she still harbors regrets about plunking down her hard-earned cash on something so useless (to her). Of course, I can always chalk it up as "research" - but have you suffered beauty buyer's remorse?

Always on the impulse buys, if I think about something then when I buy it i'm more happier with it! All that thinking, wanting makes me more excited for it!

I'm a mom and there are so many necessities these days! I rarely buy beauty now. When I do, it has to be an important purchase or buyer's remorse would set in for sure!

Yes, if it's something that I buy impulsively, spent a lot of money on, and didn't really need.

Honestly, I don't have a lot of extra money, so when I make a beauty purchase, it's because I really, really want it, so I don't really get buyer's guilt.

I have more than $100 of spf lipbalms/sticks when I was looking for the perfect one-stop mlbb this summer. Alba Garnet ended that all. Clearly, I need to be swapping.

When I see a popular store, and I go in, I want to bu everything. I buy something without really thinking about it, and a week later, I wonder why I didn't buy something else. Not a good quality about me.

ALL THE TIME!!! Matter of fact, I just returned over $100 of MAC makeup the other night. I get suckered in by the Limited Edition tags, and then when I get them home, I find that they're too similar to colors I already have.

I also have a huge stash of stuff that I need to plow through. Instead of adding on, why not start using up? I stick mainly to neutral colors, so it's not like I have to wait til spring/summer to use a lot of my colors.

Plus, the Sephora sale once a year gives me a chance to buy new things, so since discovering that, it's been "easier" to hold out.

No. But then again I dont buy expensive makeup. I found a great shop that does a good range of all the main stuff and I picked up three maybelline lipsticks for £1 each, and Rimmel eyeshadows for £1 as well!

I try not to splurge as I really cant afford it Sad

It's almost always with lipstick. My lips are (incredibly) poorly defined and tend to pout a bit. Every lipstick looks like it's running down my face (even with lipliner) and the inside of my lip always shows and won't hold lipstick. So I always want to TRY lipstick, even though I know it's going to end badly.

I'm still trying to get over the vibrating mascaras! I'll just have a few cups of coffee instead! Eye-wink

I buy lotions on a whim. I have an entire shelf in my linen closet for things I've picked up, but haven't opened yet. I know I don't need more, but when I find something I love I have a hard time turning away. It's unfortunate because sometimes they sit too long and end up being ruined before I even really get to use them.

Not usually, I'm careful with my money. The other day I bought some moisturizer, it works great, but I didn't realize that it wasn't cruelty free.Sad

I think the staffers at Sephora know me and know that I will use their help and use their great return policy. I ask for samples of beauty products. When they apply make up to me I take their mirror on go outside and really look. I will leave the store and try out the new look before for the day and return a week later to buy the product.
I try to make beauty product investments - things that are classic and are quality.

yea I do esp if it something that I don't like. I think that is why I love free samples so much b/c I can try before I buy

I almost always buy my beauty from Nordstroms or Sephora. That way, if I realize I've made a mistake, I can always return it, no questions asked!

i do sometimes sine i'm always one of the first to latch onto a trend or new product, but for the most part i don't make purchases on my first looking at...i will check something out a few times in person and/or online before i decide to buy.

No. Because if I get it home and don't think I'll use it enough I just take it back!

After reading the Twilight Saga, I wanted to look like a vampire (I know, it's crazy) so I went to Sephora and got a sexy eye kit with loose powder eyeshadow. It's a total mess and I wish I wouldn't have been so caught up in the book. I NEVER would have bought it.

I'm a victim of not spending enough time trying out the foundations- I usually end up buying the wrong shade! >:|
I've even asked for help twice- and still got the wrong shade. lol

Thank gawd for Sephora's returns-forever no-questions-asked policy bc I can easily deal with buyer's remorse by returning products I got that interested me but that I'm not 100% in to.

Yes definitely. Or I'll buy, even though I know its useless but THINK I may like it, and I'll use it once and find it still useless. Then it's too late cause it's open, and can't be returned (doh).
