I love the name of Dove's new skincare and hair brand, Pro-Age — as in, the opposite of anti-age. This ad wasn't shown on TV, because it showed too much skin, but I think it's wonderful. Watch the video and tell me: What do you think of this commercial?

even though i can see why this was not broadcasted on tv... i LOVE IT! the portrayal of these women is beautiful and society is wayy too obsessed about anti-aging these days.
1I love it! They look beautiful and I'm glad Dove puts this kind of thing out there. I don't care that they're selling products to fight the things they say to embrace. There's no dichotomy in trying to look your best while embracing what you've got.
2WTG Dove! Finally a company embracing the beauty of aging!
3I wish they would broadcast this on TV... Why is okay to have girls jumping around in bikinis, and five minute commericals for Girls Gone Wild, but THIS is offensive? Oh well... I love Dove.
4I get the feeling I'm too young to be part of the target audience. Anyway, I don't like the commercial. I buy products for functionality. It may well be that this line has features I'd like (such as sunscreen or rich moisturizers), but Dove hasn't told me about any of them. I tend to be suspicious of marketing and feel condescended to by promotion masquerading as politics, but the worst is when the company doesn't even think it's necessary to give the most basic information about the products. Is this a hair care line? The pile of products flashed by so quickly I couldn't even see what was in it. I guess I'm not supposed to care about that part.
5Even though I`m not part of the target audience (I`m only 21!)I absolutely love that a major brand has embraced such a dramatic and honest approach to our cultural perception of beauty, and aging gracefully (which we all aspire to attain). I have actually ALREADY SEEN this ad on my tv because they have broadcast it (or a portion of this ad) on CANADIAN tv! I love that it is SO IN YOUR FACE because it inspires thought-provoking discussion among eachother. I have already had a long discussion with my sixteen and seventeen y/o brothers about female beauty and its portrayal in society. And FYI Ladies: the PRO-AGE line from Dove has everything from hair-care to body wash and face-care! I`m probably going to throw a few products in for my Mothers day present next weekend!
6I love that they're showing more natural women. However, they're still selling anti-aging stuff. It's kind of a double standard.
7I like the message it promotes, however I agree with inertia because, I don't know what the products are meant to do, with products aimed towards "Anti-Aging" what they do is pretty clear, but since "Pro-Aging" is a new concept I thought they'd at least explain what the products do.
8To be honest, I really don't care one way or another. Its a nice ad and all but its not fantastic or anything. It doesn't make me uncomfortable, it's just kinda there. It's cool their embracing aging though, I suppose.
9Seriously they always have 20 year old kids in anti-age commercials.
10love it, great message
11I love Dove advertisements and their campaign for real beauty : ) Those ladies are gorgeous!
12They show this in England! We're not afraid of skin here!
13The message is beautiful! The philosophy behind the line is equally amazing! They want women to embrace their beauty at any age!
14Love the Real Beauty campaign. I can't believe they've caught so much flak for it!
15I love it! It's about time a beauty product line changed their views on beauty. I love that they celebrate beauty in all the different forms!
16I love this ad. Those women are beautiful.
17I love the commercial but around some younger people i hear their comments and its jsut terriable. cause really these women are beautiful and we are all gonna be like that one day. I say these women have courage to do that!
18I like it, but I'll admit it does make me slightly uncomfortable, only because my grandmother is of similar age and I don't want to picture her in a commercial like that!
Return the shoes? I can't talk to you when you're hysterical.
19I agree with Intertia.
20Plus, this may be great but their ingredients I'm questionable of and I'm not impressed with the amount of animal testing they do. I wish people doing one thing right could do everything right.
Very good advert and it's a shame that it never made it to air. There's no shame in aging!
21I don't like the commercial.
It's great to love your body no matter what age you are, but I think it is way too "I'm old and I'm beautiful!" in a cocky kind of way.
Good for Dove for wanting to promote things like pro-age products, but honestly it just seems like a scheme to make older women buy it. After all, it's just shampoo, lotion, or whatever. And why would a person buy a beauty product where the intent is to make you look good? Not to make you look older? That sounds harsh, not saying that old people can't look good, but I think it is just a big marketing ploy.
22I just have to add this story. It was shown as a commercial before a movie in a theater. The theater had just upgraded to new projectors. After staring, not knowing what to think, my boyfriend whispers, "Why is this in HD????"
23-Bug
They show it here in Finland and I love it. I'm sick of seeing 14 year olds selling anti-ageing products.
24Love it. Those are real, beautiful women.
25Woman need to see beauty in a more versatile way. I love this Commercial it empowers woman to embrace their given natural beauties.
xoxo nat
26Lyyli- any advertising is a scheme.....thats a given. What Dove trying to say is instead of trying to look like you are 30 when really you are in your 60's why not just embrace what you have. Yes the women they show are probably the expection to a lot of women in their 60's but they are not totally reworked with plastic surgery and photoshop. The U.S has a huge problem with accepting women as they age. In other countries older women are revered but here we just throw them away for younger models. So any commercial showing real older women even if it is a marketing scheme is progress
27They show this ad here in Germany, too. I think it is good, way better than these Nivea ads, where 30-year olds with (dyed) grey hair try to sell you the anti-age stuff. Now I am curious, is it only this ad with the old women showing skin, that is not shown on TV or all the Dove ads? I mean, there are others, where also a lot of skin is shown.

Of all the things I've lost, my mind I miss the most.
28I think it is a great idea, my Mum goes on about how she's turning grey premature (She's 45 - she started going grey about 6 ish years ago - I'm 21 and i'm going grey!!!)
My grandma's are about 65-70 and I think they are beautiful - each wrinkle on their face tells a story, it shows the wisdom that they have.
I'm getting married on Saturday and My Dad's Mum dyed her hair especially it was supposed to be kinda ash brown sort of colour except it didn't quite work on her white hair - i think she is lovely the way she is.
Pro-age products are especially to take care of older skin rather than trying to make it younger. It's a great idea!!!! Well Done!!!!
29P.S. they show this in the UK cos me and Mum talk about it everytime it comes on
30I appreciate what they are trying to do, but I would rather not see naked people spring up on my tv in a commercial.
On a related note, I tried some of this at the gym and found it kind of runny. I wasn't impressed with the lotion.
31I don't know why they don't have it on TV here in the states. They allow men and women to show their butts after 9 at night on TV shows. As a 45 year old women I am pleased to see that beauty is for all ages. The reality is we all age whether we want to or not. Why not age gracefully?
32My mom uses this lotion now, and her skin feels like silk. I was jealous as it was sofer than mine and i have been using that Olay rescue dry skin stuff in the purple bottle. I am switching even if I am only 26. that is some good ltion!

Why don't you wear the face you have when I am not around?
eh, i got nothing against dove. this is an alright commercial but they're still trying to sell you anti-ageing products. it reminds me of the "real beauty" ads that show healthy looking women but still reminds the viewwer that she has cellulite and should buy cellulite cream. they get no plus points from me but no negative ones either.
34It's about time we embrace older women as beautiful too.
35I love this concept. I feel like it's about time older women are thought of as beautiful.
36I just love Dove's marketing campaign. I started buying Dove products solely because of a "real beauty" ad I saw in a magazine. I'd rather support a company which promotes the concept that women are beautiful as they are than a company which presents a perfect face or body to sell their stuff.
37I think Dove always does a great job on their ads
38i really love it, it´s like we need a nutricious skin, for healthy and for look good, and yes, the name is really great!
39and yes, the women in the add are really beautiful, because they don hide her age, they show it with proud, simply perfect the add
40Great job Dove...pro women of all ages! I saw the making of this commercial on the Oprah show and was very impressed....real women making a difference showing that beauty is ageless.
41This ad was broadcast in Canada. I think this campaign is wonderfully refreshing. Two thumbs up!
42FINALLY. I think is fantastic. We put to much emphasis on not growing older (plastic surgery, botox, etc) and not being proud of our age. Kudos to Dove!
43Above someone mentioned that this was broadcast in Canada, so that is why I was shocked when I read that this wasn't on TV because I have seen this add. I love it and I am happy that Dove is doing good things (all around) to promote healthy and positive body images for women!
44Great! Normal women at least!
45i like how they face reality.
46i also like the way they use normal, everyday people to do their ads and not just models.
