Back in ancient Egyptian times, it was common practice for people to remove hair over their entire bodies to prevent fleas, lice, and parasites from sticking around. Makes sense to me. Fast forward to current times, and it's mostly about aesthetics or social values. This also makes sense, I suppose, but I still hate shaving nonetheless.
So, for this week's Beauty Mark It challenge, I'm asking you to review hair-removal tools. Whether it's a shaver, an epilator, or a wax-at-home kit, tell me what you think, and I'll post my favorites next Tuesday. The Bliss-Phillips Perfect Bikini electric trimmer is fantastic! I've already reviewed it but I hope it counts for this! If you can't tolerate waxing and have ingrown problems with shaving in the shower, look this up.
1I make my own wax at home from sugar, water, and lemon juice. It doesn't contain chemicals, it washes off with warm water, it's cheap, and it actually tastes yummy! I don't bother with store-bought wax kits anymore.
For, ahem, "down there" I use a shaver similar to a beard trimmer but with special attachments for women. I wax part of it but just trim the rest since it's too sensitive for me to do myself and I don't feel like paying a stranger $60+ to get all up in my cooch.
2I can't tolerate any pain so I use Nair hair removal cream for my legs and armpits and bikini areas.
