I know that a natural flush is the most highly coveted look, especially this Spring, so I'm puzzled by a couple of very brazen blushes I've recently discovered. Seriously, only an expert should be toying with these bright colors. If you dare to apply a smidgen too much of these shades on your cheeks, you are going to wind up channeling Raggedy Ann. There are a lot of looks I can tolerate, but bright 80's streaked cheeks isn't one of them. What are your thoughts on these unabashedly bright blushes? How would you use them?
This Powder Blush by Terry in Rose Faience ($55) is a not only a compact of magenta madness but it's also got some shimmer in it. Do not attempt to apply this at home! It was created to impart a healthy glow to your skin, but I think they are a season too early. It even says on the description: "Used professionally, it allows you to sculpt and enhance the curve of the cheekbones." They're even telling you not to play if you're just a plebe!

Usually, NARS can do no wrong, but this Creme Blush in Turkish Red proves that there is an exception to every rule! This color is just too over-the-top for my liking. They claim that it's sheer and fool-proof, but is anyone out there willing to spend $23 to test that theory?

hmm, they are kinda wild! maybe they'll be pretty on dark skinned girls, wont show as brightly
1no. i would not use that. yikes. i am paler than pale and i don't need to be wearing 80s-style neon pink blush on my face.
2I'm into cream blushes myself. Don't know why they don't sell more of those in Holland. That colour pink would be great as a transparent cream blush... I used to have a Lancaster one like it, but then it ran out and I couldn't get my hands on a replacement. Still grieving
Nowadays I use the body shop's lip and cheek stain.
3Nars may have struck out with Turkish Red, but I love their powder blush in Desire. It's a hot pink that really works. Love it.
4i think it really depends on the technique of application..the color might actually go on sheer
5who knows, maybe it'll work for halloween, or to get rid of an unwanted boyfriend....
6woah...definitely not for me!
7maznyli: HAHAHAHAHHAHA. LOL. I'll keep that in mind next time i want to get rid of a boy
8and although those are intense colors, i think its possibly pull-off-able by dark-skinned girls with a very light hand
That's why God invented Sephora. So you can try it before spending your $23. I use a bright-fuschia blush, and have very pale, yellow-undertone skin, and it actually comes the closest to my natural flush of any color I've tried. I'd definitely try the NARS, although I think the other would not look right with my skin tone.
9too much!
10The NARS blush is just too intense for my liking (I've tested it at Sephora). I would have to actually try the By Terry blush in order to make a decision. Some colors look very intense in the compact but go on quite sheer. The "warning" it comes with is certainly interesting!
11The color on the palette is usually 10x brighter than it looks on your cheeks. Unless you have a really heavy hand with the blush brush!
I wish I could find a blush that would give me the perfect flush. Still looking. Might have to ask a Sephora floor person for some help.
12these bright blushes would not look good on me
13nars is the best for bright colored blush in my opinion, but i only use it during the hotter summer months when i have a tan
14I'm sure that the By Terry stuff isn't so wild. The YSL blush that I use is pretty much that color and I don't look like a clown once it's on. Most compressed powder blushes actually take a lot of applications before they get too out of hand (in my opinion at least).
15I would be willing to give them a shot because as stated above, color usually look more intimidating in the case than on. I also agree that these would probably look better on dark skin.
16I misread the second one and thought NARS was NASCAR. That made sense with the color.
17actually the colors that look super bright and scary in the pan are sometimes the ones that give the prettiest color, as long as you apply them sparingly and with the right brush. but i don't know, this one does look EXTREMELY bright!
18That pink one is really pretty! That tiny amount would probably last a long time since you only use a little
