I spy two very similar looks for Miss Maggie Gyllenhaal . . . I almost wanted to get out my pen and play spot the differences! In a period of about two weeks' time, the actress wore this identical frock but switched it up beauty-wise. Since the clothing's not an issue (and the hair's pretty close as well), let's compare face-to-face. Tell me, do you prefer her more bronzed look and heavier liner on the left or the brighter lips and paler face of the right?

Christian Dior
Uslu Airlines
Anna Sui
She looks so much healthier on the left.
I think both looks are very similar. I agree the one on the left looks better. BUT could it be the flash that makes her look washed out? The shirt on the right looks washed out by the flash...
It looks like the same look with different lighting. She is wearing the same dress and bra even.
I agree it looks like the lighting makes her face look better. She looks old in both pictures..I love her though!
The left one for sure
i don't like either look.
The makeup looks the same. It looks like the flash is just washing her out.
The left one...amazing how artfully placed liner can really brighten up the eyes!
They look like the same makeup but the lighting on the right picture is a little brighter than the picture on the left. Either way, I don't really enjoy her work but she does look prettier in the left picture.
I don't like either look. I think the pic on the right just makes her look really pale and washed out because of the flash.
I love her! The look on the richt looks so much better on her.
she looks so much older in the right picture.
I thought it was the same look too until I noticed she isn't wearing a necklace in the other one. Left it is.
I like her in both pictures, but the one on the right looks more natural to me. She's overdone in the left picture. But she can do no wrong, I LOVE HER!
WTF there the SAME! Just different lighting.
the lighting is completely different, she might look just as bronzed on the right one just with brighter flash in her face. nuh-uh.
Same clothing is an issue - she's a celeb right, wearing the same outfit c'mon most of us commoners don't do that. Left looks like she got up late and said "what the hell this outfit isn't that wrinkled, I'll wear it".
I don't like either one. Are these two pictures taken on the same day? She has always dressed 30 years older than she really is. Most celebrities want and try to look their best... to each his (or her) own I guess.
She looks much more awake in the photo on the left.
I think it's just the lighting.
Neither of these pictures flatters her. The outfit is ugly and her hair looks a mess. The lipstick should be a different shade.
If you hadn't said it was from two different events, I would have just thought it was two different photographers. I guess the left one is better than the right, but neither are that great. I know she's the it girl for some reason, but she's awfully frumpy, no?
Maybe is the light, but she looks too undone in the right picture.
I agree with Kastarte, it looks like the exact same event. The only difference seems to be the lighting.
I am going to have to chime in with the same event and look with different lighting crowd.
On the left, more polished.
they look the same, but there's a bigger flash on the right. And her hair isn't quite as coiffed.
I think she's gorgeous, she's one of my favs. She and I have similar coloring and I would have to say that she looks better when she plays up her features-eyes, lips. She looks great with red lipstick and dark eyeliner.
The neutral color of her attire definitely washes out her skin tone.
I love Maggie! She looks pretty in both pictures but I voted for the one of the left, she looks more polished there. I think the main problem here is the color of the dress, it's not very flattering.
Hi everyone! It's actually two different events – the one on the left is from the launch of the 2008 Duracell Power a Smile campaign at the Children's Museum of Manhattan on December 3 while the photo on the right is from the 4th Annual Focus for Change in support of Witness at Roseland Ballroom on November 20.
Her make up looks the same but in the second one the flash is glaring.
what matters is her red lips but both are good. its only a matter of a pose and lighting on her face. but if both were shot with the same quality i'd choose her natural look that is on the right
I don't like either that much. The one on the left looks very fake, but in the pic on the right, she looks very washed out. Also, her hair looks messy in one and school-marmish in the other.
I think she looks a lot more healthy in the photo on the left.
Same look, the second picture has a much brighter flash. That's all.
I don't like either.
I think the lighting in the picture on the right is just awful. She probably looked really similar in person.
I agree. i think it is a lighting issue
The left.
