As the er, wise Billy Madison once said during his bath time battle of shampoo vs. conditioner, "Shampoo is betta. I go on first and clean the hair." Sorry — the immature side of me just couldn't resist that one. But, when it comes to shampoo, Billy Madison is right.
Shampoo should have the perfect balance of cleansing without stripping, leaving the hair feeling smooth and revived. When it comes to the hair suds, which brand does it right? 1Bumble and bumble all the way!.
i lovveee b&b, definetly the best. i generally use the thickening shampoo and conditoner type, its awesome!
I use a 2 in 1, my favorites are Head and Shoulders Smooth and Silky and Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight.
I've never been convinced what brand of Shampoo I use matters. I'm a conditioner girl, so I usually splurge on that and buy the cheapest thing on sale at the grocery store.
I'm a Redken fan myself
I love Sunsilk.
I love Biolage. It's the only think that keeps my hair from being a rats nest.
TRESemme
I don't even know. To me, they have all worked the same. I do like the ones that smell really nice, though...like Herbal Essences.
phyto!!
i also love KMS California Moisturizing Shampoo. it leaves my hair feeling SO soft and moisturized, yet clean at the same time-which is often hard to find in a moisturizing shampoo.
Tried paul mitchell ...
hated it with passion ...
just tried Dove today ... n I love it
B&B, I've gotten so many more compliments on my hair since I started using their products
where is TRESemme in this list?
Love my Redken, and I've tried everything else. They either leave my hair too dirty or greasy with extra moustrizers or strip my color. Redken Extreme is awesome.
I do like Pantene. It's cheap, and it works the best for me.
Head and Shoulders - smells soooo GREAT!! My Paul Mitchell hair stylist thinks I use PM on my hair and she always comments on how healthy and shiny it is. Plus it keeps me flake free!!!!
Aveda...I'm all about the no sulfates. My hair has been so much nicer since switching!
Me too, Cadi Con Carne! I love the smooth infusion (I think that's what it's called) -- especially since I have dry skin, it keeps me moisturized.
bumble & bumble fan
Definitely Aveda.
I like Pantene--and Bella, nice Billy Madison reference.
I liked getting my hair washed at Aveda ... it felt so invigorating.
I hope to get a chance to try out Kiehl's, Bumble & Bumble, and Fekkai once I can get my hands on some samples.
So far, Dove Grapefruit Shampoo has been my mainstay.
pantene. i haven't used any of the others except herbal essences a long time ago.
B&B
I used to think that all shampoos were the same until I started using Aveda Damage Remedy and man I can really tell a difference in the smoothness of my hair. I really love this product.
I'm also a TRESemme girl, too bad it didn't make the list.
I use John Frieda pretty religiously, but I've gotten a few samples of Frederic Fekkai and really loved it.
I swear by tresemme.... would never touch pantene eww..
Pureology!
the shampoo and the conditioner are really amazing! It makes my hair color last longer and so healthy
My favorite "high end" brands are Frederic Fekkai and Aveda...love them both so much. But I usually use Burt's Bees shampoos/conditioners because they're affordable and don't contain harsh chemicals.
I recently got a Philosophy Shampoo that I love..Shear Splendor, it's for dull or dry hair. It's great!! Makes my hair so soft, and I love the smeelllll too!! I cant' wait to try the conditioner.
I love Giovanni hair products. They work great and smell wonderful
I voted Kérastase, but The Body Shop makes really great shampoos and also I really like Goldwell, but I'm pretty sure that you can only get it at a salon. I used to be a hair stylist so I'm picky about these things.
I use Herbal Essences, the smell is so nice! Pantene always gives me horrible dandruff, I refuse to ever use it again! I haven't tried Bumble&Bumble, but after reading the comments, I think I will!
I like Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine, it works pretty well for smoothing fly-away hair. Burt's Bees More Moisture shampoo is great too.
I used Aveda Shampure for well over 10 years it worked for me but I think I needed a change. Kiehl's Olive Fruit Oil Nourishing Shampoo served me well, but my current faves are Frédéric Fekkai Glossing Shampoo and Frédéric Fekkai Apple Cider Shampoo which I alternate. So my vote is for Frédéric Fekkai!
I'm currently using BedHead's Moisture Maniac, and it's okay for a change. And I also love Aveda products!
I have some unsolicited, preachy advice to dole out. I'm usually a TRESemme girl, and it is SO cheap and works really well and it is not tested on animals. I suggest anyone who is using Pantene to switch over, or give TRESsemme a try because I find them very similar, but TRESemme is cheaper and does not test on animals.
But anyway, like others, my vote totally would have been TRESemme! It's so great!
I love Pureology products. My hairstylist got me hooked. The products are expensive but so very worth it. I am a brunette and could never keep color in my hair, until I tried Pureology. I use the shampoo and condition, and alot of their styling products and swear by them. Alot of my girlfriends had really bad fried hair until I introduced them to Purelogy. They now thank me a million times over. my hair has never been in better healthy shape ever.
I definitely have to go with Pureology. It's pricey, but I like to think that it's worth it. I mean, cheap shampoos will continue to leave residue on your hair, and that's kind of disturbing. Haha. Pureology does wonders for the hair. Not to mention, their anti-fade shampoo and conditioner products are vegan.
Biosilk
Totally agree with Jessiebanana; I splurge on conditioners (Tigi, Frederic Fekkai) and buy cheap shampoos...Usually brilliant brunette. A drugstore secret, where I've gotten loads of compliments on how great my hair looked - Organix!
Personally, I love Dove!
Herbal Essences
All of a sudden, I thought of Adam Sandler saying "I want to make the hair silky and smooth!" in "You Don't Mess With the Zohan."
