For my mom's birthday earlier this week, I Pricelined the Hyatt Regency in Chicago for the delightfully reasonable price of $65. Sure, the hotel decor was on the bland side, and we had to dodge tipsy conventioneers on the way to the elevators, but when you're paying so little, who can complain, really?
Of note: The bathroom shampoo, body wash, and soap. You'll find Portico White Ginger in Hyatts all over the place, and if you're like me, you'll want to linger in the shower. The soap has little nubs to massage your skin, while the shampoo lathers up into huge piles of foam without drying out hair. But the real reason to check it out is the scent. It's a heady, tropical lily fragrance that's strong without being overpowering. Check it out the next time you're hangin' at the Hyatt and let me know what you think.

i love this stuff!!! i always steal it when i stay at a hyatt!!!
1Blech! I hate this stuff! I felt that the shampoo/conditioner dried out my hair and didn't lather up enough (I have very thick hair)... didn't try the shower gel though. I disliked the smell the most! I guess different strokes for different folks...
2Hm, I don't know..I agree with lattegoodness, most of the hotel products I use really dry out my hair and skin, which are already dry to begin with! I always bring my own little travel kit.
3I'll be staying in the Hyatt later this month for a wedding! I'll make sure to try it out!
4I stayed in a hotel awhile back, I think it was the Four Seasons, and they had L'Occitane products. I was really happy. I don't think I've ever stayed at a Hyatt, so I would know about these.
5*wouldn't
6Oh no...my husband and I cringe every time we stay in a Hyatt because not only do we both think this smells terrible but it makes our whole room stink. There's a whole Portico store in NY and I can't figure who would buy this, but now I know...BellaSugar
Just kidding - to
each her own, I guess!
7The only toiletries I've ever liked from hotels enough to take home were Elemis (at the Mark Hopkins in SF) and L'Occitane (can't remember where).
8AHHHH while I can't say I ever got this scent, I love the eucalyptus one that they had in the Hyatts in Hawaii!
It smelled SO GOOD and flooded the bathroom with scent but was subtle so you can still wear perfume!
9When I was at the Hyatt recently, I used this shower gel and lotion, and it really dried out my skin and left it red. Luckily I brought my own lotion
. I didn't mind the shampoo, though there was nothing special about it.
10The Hyatt's in Australia are notoriously expensive and kinda crappy.
The photos I've seen don't make me want to shell out my hard earned cash. I almost never go to hotels but I'm very picky when I do.
Theres a hotel in Adelaide (The Mantra) that has the most amazing smelling soap.
11It comes in little off white blocks and smells like spiced lemons.
I nicked every bar I could find last time.
I love the Portico products, especially the shampoos. The last Hyatt I was in had a clarifying shampoo and it was marvelous. It was organic, so the foam wasn't the greatest. But...my hair was light with out being dry. I would love to find out where to buy some.
