I've dabbled with brow gels here and there, and I've even done the old set 'em down with hairspray trick, but for some reason or another I've never really embraced the product — until now. And after trying Maybelline Define-A-Brow Gel in Clear ($5.79), I discovered it was just what I needed.
After a particularly scary look in the mirror one morning — uh, hello, Muppets character — I knew something needed to be done. I completely understand bedhead, but eyebrow. . .er, head? Not cool.
I swept the non-curved mascara wand right over the unruly hairs for an instantly polished look. I was concerned about flaking and clumping, but nada. The best part? The lightweight gel set immediately without a hardened, clumpy look. I highly recommend.

This looks like a nice alternative to pricey brow gels. I was convinced into buying the Anastasia gel, I do like it but clear mascara will do the same thing!
1Oooh awesome! I'm gonna have to pick one up for myself!
Thanks for doing more drugstore reviews, Bella!!
2Good to know although mine are usually pretty okay...
3I get eyebrowhead too, Bella! I'll try this.
4NICE. I have the worst eyebrowhead (LOL) ever, and I've been meaning to pick up just a regular ol' clear mascara for a while. But I'll definitely get this instead, as it's a little more tailored to my needs
5I have uses the one from Aveda, but I will definitely get this one.
6bella i have the same problem,
7thanks i think I'll buy this
one.
I usually use CG clear mascara, but maybe I'll try this one next time if it's cheaper...
8hahaha @ eyebrowhead. That happened to me this past weekend and I so wished I had my clear gel mascara!
9Brow gel is a staple in my makeup case and I've been using sephora brand, which is expensive. I'll try this instead!
10Err, I think it would be called 'bedface' or 'bedbrow' sounds a little more elegant, lol! I've had 'bedface' before so this muppet dilemma with the brows is definitely the latter.
Anyway, I recently bought elf clear brow and lash gel, but, as I expected, it's watery, weak and does NOTHING. Although I've no many unruly brows, but I used it even just on my skin on my hand and there was no texture, no tackiness or anything. Can a brow gel hold when it's not sticky at all??????
This was my first brow gel purchase. Any ideas on what makes a good gel - should it be a little sticky? Or thick?
11I use one by Bourjois Paris but if this works just as good I wouldn't mind swithching brands if it'll save me a few bucks. Thanks for the review!
