When it came to the best of lipsticks, MAC was the hands down winner this year, taking over 30 percent of the vote. Much loved for their reasonably priced lipsticks with every type of color and texture imaginable, it's clear to see why MAC came out on top. And as for my winner? I'm going to have to agree with you on this one. With MAC's fashion-y collaboration with Ungaro and do-gooder Viva Glam line (a portion of the proceeds go to people living with AIDS), the popular cosmetics company had a banner year. I agree!
1MAC has an excellent variety of shades, that's for sure, but the formula is NOT the best for me. I find their lipsticks to be too drying--I need something a little more moisturizing and creamy.
2I love the colors but I agree; their amplified cream can be too drying. But I am in LOVE with their slimshines.
Swelter is my new love.
3MAC does make good lipstick but unfortunately there is lead in it.
4Too drying...don't like them at all.
5Love the shades but hate the taste. There's something funny in it that gives me a migraine. :-/
6The only MAC lipstick I have is RubyWoo... which I love the color, not the texture....
7I'm not a lipstick gal, mainly b/c it doesn't look good on me. The one lipstick I do wear is from MAC. It's the perfect shade and lasts a LONG time.
8Bella, your statement about the Viva Glam line is incorrect. MAC does not donate a portion of the proceeds to people living with AIDS. Every cent of the selling price of Viva Glam lipsticks and lipglasses go directly into the MAC Aids Fund which provides men, women, and children living with HIV and AIDS with much needed relief. One Viva Glam lipstick provides an AIDS victim with a flu shot, an inhaler, a week's worth of groceries, or a hepatitis shot, among many possible benefits. Every day, MAC employees raise over 37,000 dollars worldwide for the fund (and we're very proud of it, I might add!
). MAC takes a huge hit as we pay for the production
and sales of the product, but don't make money from it. Since the inception of the program in 1994, MAC has raised over 120 MILLION dollars. Here's a link: http://www.maccosmetics.com/mac_aid/macaids_landing.tmpl. Happy
