After 27 hours of travel to get home for the holidays (yeah, really!), I arrived home looking a bit haggard. As I slabbed on the concealer and swept on the powder blush in attempt to hide my jet-lagged appearance, I couldn't help but wish I had some cream blush instead. The powdered blush just seemed a little flat and settled into my parched skin in the most unflattering way.
So, I made a pit stop at the only place that was open: the drugstore. I'd heard some decent things about Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush ($6.89) on the blush pages of our Product Reviews website, so I picked up two: one for my mom and one for me.
The Dream Mousse comes in six shades ranging from a bronzy brown to a bright pink. I tried Peach Satin, a slightly shimmery peaches 'n' cream glow, and my mom tried Soft Plum, a natural rose.
The verdict? We both agreed that a little goes a long way, making this light-as-air blush a great bang for your buck. We also liked how easy it was to blend and that it didn't get cakey or emphasize any rough patches or wrinkles. As for my mom, she was pleased as punch (her expression) that this creamy blush took the paleness out, leaving her with a natural radiance. As for me? I wish the color lasted just a bit longer, but all in all, mom's always right. This affordable whipped blush is a keeper.

I've never used the blush, but I like the foundation

i have that one and ...it looks like a clown when i use it
never agin
the color is too strong
I have it in Soft Plum, the color in the picture, and I do like it. One pot has lasted me a couple years already, though now it's a bit dried out. I like the color and how it goes on, but the color does fade so I'm sure to bring it with me for touch ups during the day.
4i'm too scared to try any mousse products, i tend to have a heavy hand when putting blush on as it is.
5I just bought my first cream blush and am in love with it. I will have to try this one.
6Sounds pretty decent...
7Oh, good. I was thinking about getting a budget-friendly replacement for my Stila rouge pot.
8I like this blush! I have a pale pink shade and a plum shade. I think they're pretty good, as far as drugstore makeup goes.
9I think I may have tried this once. I liked the texture and everything, but found it to be much too shimmery.
10I"ve used the peach satin for a couple of years now. I love it.
11I actually really like this blush and I use a lot of high end products. The pigmentation is a plus to me, not a weakness, because I have dark skin. Most expensive cream blushes (MAC, Stila, Guerlain) don't show up on me. Plus the consistency of this blush is great. It will last you until it starts to dry out in a year or two.
12If it had a different label it could definitely pass for a more expensive product. The packaging is also very cute and purse friendly.
13I use the mousse foundation every day as a concealer, since I don't like all-over make up products. I also have the bronzer that I use as a regular bronzer on my cheekbones during the summer and fall, and I only use it as an eyeshadow in the winter. I like it a lot! And it's definitely travel friendly.
14I bought this when I was curious about cream blush but didn't want to pay high en prices ( I was this close to getting Benefits cream blush) and boy am I glad! This works so nicely and a little really does go a long way. Out of all the blushes I have this gives me the most natural flushed glow.
15I have both the shades you talked about and I love, love them. They are definitely worth getting!
16Do any of you guys know the best shade of this for a fair Asian complexion? I'm terrible at picking those out in the drugstore.
17I love this blush. I have some rose shade. All you need is a little dab...and it has a bit of shimmer. It's so natural looking...loooove it.
18The foundation gave me my life's worst breakout!!!
19I'm still a little scared of cream blushes. I've found that putting on blush before powder helps it stay on forever, so I've never seen a need to go out and get a cream blush.
