Since I discovered the new and luxuriously large Perfecting Powdered Sheets from NARS, I've noticed that more and more designer brands are now making blotting papers. Until now, oil-absorbing sheets like the ones from Papier Poudre were available mainly as a budget buy, but now these products are getting an upgrade. So I've put together a three-part series to introduce the new market for designer blotting papers.
Dior Blotting Papers ($21) help absorb any excess oil on your face. All 150 sheets are folded into a beautiful silver envelope with a mirror inside. Simply blot around your T-Zone for a magnificent matte look.

Shiseido Pureness Oil-Control Blotting Papers ($15.50) are powder-coated sheets that help keep your skin dry. They come in a small and flexible plastic pouch that contains 100 sheets.
ModelCo Matte Facial Blotting Paper ($8) is one large continuous roll of blotting paper. You simply tear off a little or a lot depending on how oily you are at that moment. Just press the paper gently over your skin without wiping for a clean, fresh feeling.

Huh. I guess the "regular" blotters weren't luxe enough!
1I agree! You can keep the travel size Kleenex in your purse, serves the same purpose.
2$21??Who would pay that for blotting papers?Someone, I guess...
3I'll stick with my $2.50 Burt's Bees blotting papers.
4This may be crazy but I have the Dior one and use them as a quick little note pad for writing down little tid bits when I am out and about. It's like an ultra-chic notepad with built in mirror!
5I honestly don't see the point in paying for designer blotting sheets. It's kind of funny, really.
6What a great idea, partysugar!
7I use the Shiseido ones since they're far more effective for oilier girls like myself over the cheaper versions (Clean & Clear, Biore).
8My bf used this before as a sample when i bought stuff from Shiseido, he likes it a lot and he's very oily, even oily control face foam wash doesn't help.
9Well, the Dior envelope sure makes blotting oil fashionable!
10I am the queen of shine, especially my cheeks for some reason. I like how the Dior ones come in a little posh booklet! totally cute!
11I'll stick to my Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush ones. They're inexpensive and work.
12I'm very oily, I can wipe oil off my face after 15 minutes of washing it! I have tried tons of different blotting papers, I actually just used my last sheet of my clean and clear pack. And I must say, there really is a difference in Shiseido blotting papers and the clean and clear ones. the estee lauder ones are OK, but not as good. For very oily people (not just shiny), it really is worth the money.
13I like these.
14Great idea, partysugar!
15pretty cool...
16Well, I will continue to use the cheaper versions, but I love blotting paper! I don't know what I did before them. I've gotten my parents using them now, too!
17dior blotting sheets are expensive but they are good. i also like to use boscia it has a lavender scent to it...it smells amazing
