Memorial Day is just around the corner, and if you follow traditional fashion rules, that means it's officially time to start wearing white. So why not take a cue from Scarlett Johansson and try wearing it on your nails? (It works on real people too: Check out what Retail_therapy has to say.)
Pure white and off-white nails are very trendy right now, and both shades look especially good with tanned skin and summery clothes, like brights and pastels. Here are three products to help you get the look.
OPI Nail Lacquer in Fit for a Queensland ($7.50). This shade from OPI's Summer Australia collection has an iridescent finish.
Two more, so read more
Lippmann Collection in Amazing Grace ($15) is a pure white polish with a more matte finish.
Yves Saint Laurent Nail Touch in White Sparkle ($23) has a cloudier opal look, and the pen makes it super-easy to apply.

I'm not sure I like this trend
My fiance's sister had white nail polish a few weeks back and it looked okay but you definitely have to keep your nails short. I might go for an off-white, just to see how it looks.
yuck...not a fan. it looks like someone got bored at school or work and decided to paint their nails with white-out! i much prefer the black nail polish trend, and i don't even like that one as much!
i dont know, it could look pretty good i supose, but i agree with steen ur nails should b short to rock the look
That's funny I just painted my toenails white a week ago. I like the look esp since I'm not too pale right now!
I like white toenails a lot, but I'm not sure about white fingernails...and I think I'm too pale to pull it off!
I switch off between black, red and white nails. I love the look of white nails on short nails and tan hands.
Another good nailpolish is ORLY french manicure "white tips." It is chip proof!!!
I love white nail polish. It looks especially good on tan skin.
I like the white, just as long as the nails are short. Same thing with dark reds and burgundys
I don't like this. It reminds me of when I was a bored 3rd grader and would paint my finger nails with Whiteout.
i'm rocking the white nails right now. and yeah, you have to keep your nails short, just like if you want to wear onyx, you should keep your nails short.
I agree with everyone else...reminds me off white out. I think an off white or a light pretty pink also looks good on really tan hands. But what do I know, I'm still loving black polish!!
I was wondering when it would go from black to white. I read recently that stark white looks too much like white out, but if you stick with a slightly translucent white it can look clean and classy. I think I'll have to give it a go.
yeah im not so sure either. i mean i like white but not all over my nails
I've been wearing white nails for quite a while now, and I think it's great. Definitely a nice change from black -- especially since I go to a lot of industrial/goth/fetish type events. I like to do mine with a pinstripe of black or a bright color like neon green down the middle sometimes, for a change. I'm actually a little bit disappointed that now I'm going to look "trendy".
I don't like it at all !
Glad I'm not the only one who got bored in class and painted my nails with White-Out.
i will be skipping this trend.
scar's make up is hid. eww to the white nail polish.
looks more like white out to me! lol
I think white nail with some swarovskis looks cute.
and pearl white is also good.
how very appropriate and coincidental that i am wearing WHITE on my nails now
eew.. it looks like white-out
I really need to find a pure white nailpolish.. it's so hard to find... damn you Belgium
I like the more cream and off-white colors better, but I definitely agree, the color that Scarlette is wearing looks exactly like white-out and I hate it just as much as I hated black nails. The OPI color might be nice though, since it has an iridescent finish.
not a fan..looks like whiteout.. i bet girls are gonna be doin that ..lols
Not digging it.
I love this trend and I've been doing it for a while now. However, I don't wear a true white nail color, I wear more of an offwhite color!
I'd have to go with an off-white. I tried this trend last week and I just kept feeling like I had White-Out all over my hands!
i'm painting my nails white right now.
I like it. I have tan skin and I tried white nail polish before. It looks good.
I just painted my toe-nails a sheer off-white. I agree that stark white just looks like white-out.
i'm hesitant to try this trend... i have light brown skin and when i get a french manicure, even though it's only the tips that are white, i still feel like they were painted on with white-out... so i just rely on my clear polish with a tint of pink for a clean look even on my toes... i wonder if the pen nail polish is easier to apply? hmmm...
hmm not like it..
I just bought an iridescent white not too long ago. I don't like it on my fingernails, but I must try it on my toes! Not much of a fan of the stark white. I'll stick with a pale pink for the fingers.
i love it! You an't help but notice white nails. When i was 14(3 years ago) i went though a white nail faze, mainly because of kath and kim
I love white nailpolish! I get a lot of attention from guys when I wear it. My boyfriend says he loves it and that a lot of guys secretly love it but are too shy to say anything. He says a lot of celebrities wear it and showed me a site on Flickr where someone has a big collection of pictures. http://www.flickr.com/photos/whitenails
I like the white but I usually only use one coat. Two seems a little too milky.
ok i tried this every other nail a color and have white nail polish for the ones that have no color to them!!! well im half way there i have to find my white first
I live in Texas and i just had my nails done white. Everyone around here keeps asking me what's with the white nails? I told them it's a new trend, I love it. Most texans aren't even use to the black nail polish yet. We'll see how long it takes to get this way.
