When opening the new Hello, Flawless! compact by Benefit, I got flashbacks from disasters of years past; that explains my higher-than-normal nervousness about powdery foundation. Since this product comes with both a sponge and a flat brush, I went for the sponge first and smeared some makeup on my skin: Way too powdery for my tastes, just as I'd expected. I'd yet to try the brush but, feeling far from open-minded, I set the product aside 'til the following day. The next morning I opened the two-tray, mirrored container and took out the brush to give it a whirl and, wow, was I pleased with the results.
For a sheer finish, use light quick strokes from the center of your face outward with the brush – it totally helped even out my skin tone with what a pal called a "magazine-ready finish," and it didn't look cakey. Word to the wise, it is on the messier side (as with any loose powder) so be careful to not get it on your clothing, too! Now, I'm just using a light daily dusting of this product over moisturizer. Four of the six shades are available online, and they should all be in stores within the next few weeks. I never thought I'd say this, but I love my powder makeup!

Hmmmm I find sometimes with powdery foundations it ends up looking splotchy because sometimes my skin can get oily.

2While I'm a huge Benefit fan, I hate foundations like this...reminds me of the cream-to-powder foundation that my friend who sold Mary Kay made me try once. I find that it usually looks so cakey.
I'll stick with my tinted moisturizer.
3I don't wear foundation so I don't think this is for me..
4I've been noticing lately that powder foundations are getting better and better.
5I want to try this.
6im a big fan of studio fix, and i really like the loreal true-match powder (on top of the true-match liquid foundation). i may want to try this
7I'm definitely intrigued enough to give it a shot when it hits shelves
8if I could figure out what color I would be, I would order this!
9I've just found powder foundations like BE, how does this stand up against something like that? I absolutely love Benefit Cosmetics and probably own 20 to 30 of their products. I might have to try this.
10I love Benefit cosmetics, everything I've got from them, and I have a lot, I love! But thankfully I was born with really good skin and I don't need a foundation. Tinted moisturizer works great for me. But I may try this product for times when I want more coverage, if I was going to use a foundation, this is what it would be!
11As someone mentioned above, the only powdery foundation I can tolerate is MAC's Studio Fix, it gives me a picture perfect finish. Although it may get blotchy when my skin gets oily, but that means I just need to oil-blot my skin and apply more powder with a brush and viola, good to go.
12Do you use it over the la roche posay in the summer? I can't do powder foundations over it because it really grabs on to powder.
13great for freckles, it blends well, looks polished yet natural. works good for me!
